中西思维模式差异对高中学生英语写作的影响

【摘要】:写作是用语言表达思想的一种书面交际形式,它能反映某种文化特有的思维方式。中国高中生英语写作也是用英语来表达自己思想的一种手段。然而,英汉民族具有不同的语言文化和思维方式,中国学生在英语作文中不可避免地受到汉文化思维模式的影响,常常写出大量带有“中式”特征的英语文章。近年来,国内外关于母语负迁移与写作的研究很多但有关英汉思维差异对英语写作的影响的研究却不多。通过实验研究,本文尝试分析中西思维模式差异对高中生英语写作的影响,并试图找到合适的方法促进学生英语思维能力的形成,提高他们的英语写作水平。本文首先阐述了中西思维模式的几种差异以及造成这些差异的原因。然后,针对中国高中学生在英语写作过程中较常出现的问题,如:选词不恰当、句法不规范、篇章不合理等,作者从所教高中的两个班级收集了英语作文,并从中西思维模式差异的角度对两个班学生的英语作文中出现的错误进行了对比分析。大体而言,本文主要研究分析了以下几方面内容。第一,在词汇方面,作者发现由中西思维模式差异引起的英文写作错误主要有词义混淆、词汇空缺、词性选择不当。其次,在句法方面,作者着重研究了学生写英文句子时标点符号的错误使用、中式英文的错误表达,以及学生受母语思维的影响,对英文句子结构和各句子成分的认知错误。最后,在语篇方面,作者主要研究了学生在英语作文中不会写或者误写主题句的问题,另外,找出了由中西思维模式差异所引起的学生书写英语文章篇章不合理的原由并进行分析。在对上述学生在英文写作中出现的错误进行分析总结之后,本文又提出了对高中生英语写作学习与教学的部分参考意见。从本研究可以看出,高中学生的英语作文从词汇的应用、造句,谋篇布局都存在很多的错误。而这些错误主要是由于汉语思维对英语的支配作用所造成的。因此,笔者建议,在对学生英语写作进行训练时,不能只教授给学生语法、词汇等知识点,还应从传授西方文化和西方思维模式的知识入手,帮助学生深入了解在英语写作过程中的中西思维模式差异,从而帮助他们分析和认知受汉文化思维方式影响所导致的在用词、造句、谋篇布局上出现错误的原因,写出更地道的英语文章。
[Abstract]:Writing is a form of written communication in which thoughts are expressed in language. Chinese high school students' English writing is also a means of expressing their thoughts in English. However, English and Chinese people have different language, culture and mode of thinking. Chinese students are inevitably influenced by the thinking mode of Chinese culture in their English composition, and often write a large number of English articles with the characteristics of "Chinglish". In recent years, there have been a lot of researches on the negative transfer of mother tongue and writing at home and abroad, but there are few studies on the influence of the difference of thinking between English and Chinese on English writing. Through the experimental study, this paper attempts to analyze the influence of the differences between Chinese and Western thinking patterns on senior high school students' English writing, and tries to find appropriate ways to promote the formation of students' English thinking ability and improve their English writing level. This paper first expounds the differences between Chinese and Western thinking patterns and the causes of these differences. Then, aiming at the common problems of Chinese senior high school students in the process of English writing, such as improper choice of words, improper syntax, unreasonable text and so on, the author collects English compositions from the two classes in the high school. From the perspective of the differences between Chinese and Western thinking patterns, this paper makes a comparative analysis of the errors in the English composition of the two classes. In general, this paper mainly studies and analyzes the following aspects. First, in terms of vocabulary, the author finds that the errors in English writing caused by the differences in Chinese and western thinking patterns are mainly confusion of word meaning, lack of vocabulary and improper choice of part of speech. Secondly, in syntax, the author focuses on the error of punctuation in writing English sentences, the misrepresentation of Chinglish, and the cognitive errors of English sentence structure and sentence components under the influence of native language thinking. Finally, in the context of discourse, the author focuses on the problem of students' inability to write or miswrite topic sentences in English compositions. This paper finds out the unreasonable reasons of students' writing English articles caused by the differences of thinking patterns between China and the West, and analyzes the reasons. After analyzing and summing up the mistakes made by the above mentioned students in English writing, this paper puts forward some suggestions for senior high school students' English writing learning and teaching. From this study, we can see that there are many mistakes in English composition of senior high school students. These errors are mainly caused by the dominance of Chinese thinking in English. Therefore, the author suggests that in the training of students' English writing, we should not only teach students grammar, vocabulary and other knowledge points, but also start with the knowledge of western culture and western thinking mode. It helps students to understand the differences between Chinese and Western thinking patterns in the process of English writing, so as to help them analyze and recognize the causes of errors in terms, sentences and text layout caused by the influence of Chinese cultural thinking style. Write more authentic English articles.
