文学复古与“科学”革命:戴震的西学对章太炎国故文体的影响

【摘要】："西学东渐"这一文明转型学术潮流中,出自异域文明的知识话语与民族本位的旧思想之间形成张力,导致"传统"的发现并产生复古思潮。然而文体的复古不一定就等同于文章内容的复古,内含革命性的新知识话语不一定以同样崭新的文学形式来表达出来。相反,复古的文体往往承载着更为激进的话语内容。推动辛亥革命并率领国故运动的"有学问的革命家"章太炎喜作古奥晦涩的复古文章,遂世人称之为"国学大师"。然而,阅读其文便可知,章氏以复古文体表述了由来于西方的新思想、新知识。加上其独特的佛学诠释,他实际上为中国哲学思想话语的现代化转型做出了极大的理论贡献。章太炎承继了清代乾嘉汉学的考据学传统,企望清代汉学能够产生科学的现代话语,同时始终坚持使用复古笔法。这种看似矛盾的姿态因何而成?有何目的而为之?本文为了回答这个问题,要回到他深受影响的乾嘉汉学,特别是戴震的天文历算学著作,着眼于两者之间的某种共同性,从而探讨文章形式的复古和内容的革新性质之间看似矛盾的关系究竟含蕴着什么样的实践意义。
[Abstract]:In the academic trend of civilization transformation, the tension between the knowledge discourse of foreign civilization and the old thought of national standard formed, which led to the discovery of "tradition" and the retro trend of thought. However, the restoration of literary style is not necessarily equivalent to the restoration of the content of the article, and the discourse containing revolutionary new knowledge is not necessarily expressed in the same new literary form. On the contrary, retro style often carries more radical discourse content. Zhang Taiyan, the learned revolutionary who promoted the Revolution of 1911 and led the movement of the old country, liked to write ancient and obscure articles, so the world called it the "master of Chinese culture". However, after reading the text, Zhang expressed new ideas and knowledge from the West in the style of retro. In addition to his unique interpretation of Buddhism, he actually made a great theoretical contribution to the modernization transformation of Chinese philosophical discourse. Zhang Taiyan inherited the tradition of textual research of Han studies of Qianjia in Qing Dynasty, hoping that Sinology in Qing Dynasty could produce scientific modern discourse, and at the same time insisted on the use of retro style. Where does this seemingly contradictory gesture come about? What is the purpose? In order to answer this question, this article wants to go back to his deeply influenced Sinology of Qianjia, especially Dai Zhen's work on astronomical almanac, and focus on the certain commonality between the two. This paper discusses the seemingly contradictory relationship between the retro style of the article and the innovative nature of the content.
