在小学英语课堂上运用游戏提高外来务工人员子女学习兴趣

【摘要】:我国教育部2001年颁布了《小学英语课程教学基本要求(试行)》,其中明确规定了小学阶段开设英语课程及英语教学的主要目标和要求,提出小学阶段的英语教学目标是通过听、说、读、看等多项教学活动,激发和培养小学生的学习积极性与学习兴趣,使小学生养成良好的学习习惯,也使学生获得对英语的一些直观感性认识,在此基础上掌握一定的语言技能,培养小学生初步运用英语进行听说的口语交际能力,开发学生智力,发展思维能力,帮助小学生建立科学的世界观、人生观、价值观,利用英语传递的思想、文化、情感等有初步的跨文化认识的意识。新的《全日制义务教育英语课程标准(实验稿)》也提出了英语教育要“以人为本”,将成人与成才相结合,并不局限于学了几个单词,几个句型。很多专家和学者谈到课堂教学的作用时说,排在第一位的是培养学生的兴趣,兴趣是推动学习的内在力量,是学生学习的强大动力。笔者所在的锡林浩特市第十小学地处锡林浩特市最东端,是一所外来务工人员子女占70%以上的学校。由于外来务工人员往往处于社会的基层,属于弱势群体,所以受这样的家庭背景和社会环境的影响,这些人员的子女往往有超出其他同龄人的自卑感,缺乏归属感,课堂上会表现出精力不集中,反应迟钝,情绪低落,缺乏学习兴趣。通过笔者对实验对象所做的调查问卷和访谈都可以看出,大部分同学对游戏教学表现出很感兴趣。根据动机理论、皮亚杰的儿童认知发展理论以及建构主义理论的描述,小学阶段的儿童对游戏表现出的兴趣可以成为他们主动有效学习的内部动机,而大部分小学阶段的学生正处于具体运算阶段,他们的认知发展还是离不开具体事物的表象,游戏教学正符合学生的身心发展特点。本研究的主要目的就是通过教师在英语课堂上采用符合外来务工人员子女这样一个特殊群体的小学生的身心发展规律的游戏教学方法,来提高他们学习英语的兴趣。笔者通过使用问卷调查、课堂观察和访谈法,以自己所授课的四年级学生为研究对象来进行研究,研究问题是:教师在小学英语课堂上采用游戏教学是否可以提升外来务工人员子女的英语学习兴趣?通过对实验班和控制班将近一个学期的对比研究,得出的结论是肯定的:教师在小学英语课堂上采用游戏教学可以提升外来务工人员子女的英语学习兴趣。
[Abstract]:In 2001, the Ministry of Education promulgated the basic requirements for Primary School English Curriculum Teaching (try out), which clearly stipulates the main goals and requirements of setting up English curriculum and English teaching in primary school, and puts forward that the goal of English teaching in primary school is through listening. He said, reading, watching and other teaching activities stimulate and cultivate pupils' enthusiasm and interest in learning, so that pupils can form good study habits, and students can also acquire some intuitive and perceptual understanding of English. On this basis, we should master certain language skills, train primary students' oral communication ability of listening and speaking with English, develop students' intelligence and thinking ability, and help pupils establish scientific world outlook, outlook on life and values. Using English to convey ideas, cultures, emotions and so on have a preliminary awareness of cross-cultural understanding. The new English Curriculum Standard for Full-time compulsory Education (Experimental draft) also puts forward that English education should be "people-oriented", combining adults with talent, and not limited to learning a few words and sentence patterns. Many experts and scholars talk about the role of classroom teaching, said that the first is to cultivate the interest of students, interest is the internal force to promote learning, is a strong motivation for students to learn. The No. 10 Primary School in Xilinhot is located in the easternmost part of Xilinhaote. It is a school with migrant workers' children accounting for more than 70%. Because migrant workers are often at the grass-roots level of society and belong to vulnerable groups, their children often have a sense of inferiority beyond that of other peers and lack a sense of belonging because of this family background and social environment. Class will show a lack of concentration, slow response, depression, lack of interest in learning. According to the questionnaire and interview, most of the students are interested in the game teaching. According to motivation theory, Piaget's theory of children's cognitive development and constructivism theory, children's interest in play in primary school can be the internal motivation for active and effective learning. Most primary school students are in the stage of concrete calculation, their cognitive development is still inseparable from the appearance of specific things, and the game teaching is in line with the characteristics of students' physical and mental development. The main purpose of this study is to improve the students' interest in learning English by adopting a game teaching method which accords with the rules of physical and mental development of the children of migrant workers in English classroom. By using questionnaire survey, classroom observation and interview, the author takes the fourth grade students as the research object. The question is: can teachers use game teaching in primary school English classes to enhance the interest of migrant workers' children in English learning? Through a comparative study of the experimental class and the control class for nearly one semester, the conclusion is certain: the teachers' use of game teaching in the primary English classroom can promote the interest of the children of migrant workers in English learning.
