初中教育中家长参与的社会阶层差异

【摘要】:本文以中国教育追踪调查初中阶段(2013-2014学年)基线调查数据为依据,运用OLS回归模型检验了阶层理论对中国初中教育中家长参与的解释。研究发现,与西方国家相似,阶层理论对我国教育中的家长参与积极程度具有较好的解释力。我国中产阶层家长更可能积极地参与到子女的教育中,包括“以家为本”的家长参与和“以校为本”的家长参与,而且对子女具有更高的教育期望;而工人阶层家长参与子女教育的积极程度相对较低,与中产阶层存在显著差异。但是,这种阶层差异主要存在于新中产和工人阶层家长之间,旧中产和工人之间的差异只体现在“以校为本”的家长参与和教育期望两方面,在其他方面几乎不存在。为了进一步分析家长参与中阶层差异的影响因素,本研究选取了四个阐明变量进行检验。本研究所检验的阐明机制包括家长的教育观念、文化资本、家庭经济条件和户籍,其中,前三个解释变量与很多西方研究相似,但户籍是具有我国特色的一个解释变量。本研究发现,这四个阐明变量对我国初中教育中的家长参与具有不同程度的影响力。本研究还发现,在新中产与工人家长之间,文化资本具有最强、最具决定性的影响力,说明对我国家长的初中教育参与而言,新中产家长的文化资本起到了最为关键的作用。但是对于旧中产和工人阶层家长,情况并不相同。最后,本文对本研究的结论展开了讨论,总体上对家长参与中的阶层差异及相关问题持较为乐观的态度,且提出可以从增强家长个人的主观能动性、教育政策相互配合等方面予以补充和提升的建议等。
[Abstract]:Based on the baseline survey data in junior middle school (2013-2014 school year) of China Education tracking Survey, this paper uses OLS regression model to test the interpretation of the class theory to the parents' participation in junior middle school education in China. The study found that, similar to western countries, class theory has a better explanation for the positive degree of parental participation in Chinese education. Middle class parents in China are more likely to actively participate in their children's education, including "home-based" and "school-based" parents, and have higher educational expectations for their children; The positive degree of working class parents participating in children's education is relatively low, which is significantly different from that of middle class. However, this class difference mainly exists between the parents of the new middle class and the working class, and the difference between the old middle class and the worker is only reflected in the two aspects of "school-based" parental participation and educational expectation, and hardly exists in other aspects. In order to further analyze the influencing factors of parental participation in middle class, this study selected four variables to test. The elucidation mechanism of this study includes parents' educational concept, cultural capital, family economic condition and household registration. Among them, the first three explanatory variables are similar to many western studies, but household registration is an explanatory variable with Chinese characteristics. This study finds that these four variables have different degrees of influence on the participation of parents in junior middle school education in China. It is also found that the cultural capital has the strongest and most decisive influence between the new middle class and workers' parents, which indicates that the cultural capital of the new middle class parents plays the most important role in the junior middle school education participation of Chinese parents. But for old middle-class and working-class parents, the situation is not the same. Finally, the conclusion of this study is discussed in this paper. The author holds a more optimistic attitude towards the class differences and related issues in the parental participation, and proposes that it can enhance the individual initiative of parents. Education policy to complement and promote the recommendations and so on.
