She graduated from Columbia University in 1966, received a doctorate in history from Cambridge University in 1969 and was appointed to society in 2012. Chairman of the Scientific Research Council. KatzNelson has long been engaged in urban and working class formation and published Urban trenches: urban Politics and the Model of American Class formation in the 1980s. In Marxism and the City (1992), KatzNelson goes back and back.
