玉门关名义新探——金关、玉门二名互匹说

【摘要】：斯坦因说玉门关得名于西域玉石之输入。查古代史、志、记、传及各种类书皆无此说,现当代权威性词书及地名词典亦不取此说,断知其说无稽。本文以为,“玉门”一词系借用西汉以前旧有成词。《易》有“西北之卦……为玉为金”之言,又有“金性刚坚”、“玉质温润”之说,“金”之坚刚,用之以抗威诛逆;玉质温润,用以示仁而泽外。“金关”、“玉门”二名互匹,兼示性质功能之别。
[Abstract]:Stein said that the Yumen pass was named after the input of jade in the Western region. There is no such theory in ancient history, chronicles, records, biographies and various kinds of books, nor in modern and contemporary authoritative word books and geographical names dictionaries. This article thinks that the word "Yumen" is borrowed from the old words of the Western Han Dynasty. For the jade for gold, there are also "gold strong", "jade gentle" said, "gold" strong, with the use of resistance to the enemy; jade gentle, to show benevolence and lustre outside. "Jin Guan", "Yumen" two names, and show the nature of the function of the distinction.
