【摘要】：关于陆羽的身世,本文作者认为:一是陆羽非头胎之子,他极可能有兄、姊,要不"季疵"之"季"字作何解?陆羽在湖州时别称"陆三",除了与嘉禾陆士修、吴下陆涓"陆氏三友"以齿序居三之意,或许真的排行第三呢。二是陆羽自身的确有缺陷和疾病,不为尊者讳,斗胆怀疑是生理上的,否则无法合理解释被遗弃之谜;不然如圣者孔子一般,"野合"而生?以致被私下舍弃么?三是陆羽的父母不会是天门本地人,即便是,也断无将其置于覆釜州而不顾泄密吧?"没有不透风的篱笆",只有外乡人才可能有类此不得已行为。四是陆羽的父母祖辈均为吴地人,父亲或是苏州人,母亲疑为湖州人。
