[Abstract]:For more than 200 years in the Qing Dynasty, the cities of the Pearl River system were influenced by political, economic, military and other factors, and the number of cities and the size of the cities changed greatly. The unabated number of cities and the expansion of urban population scale represent the progress of urban civilization in the Pearl River system in the Qing Dynasty, but on the whole, the distribution and development of the number and scale of the Pearl River cities in different sections are extremely unbalanced. First, the distribution of the upper, middle and lower reaches is unbalanced, and the second is the imbalance of the distribution of cities in the east, middle and west of the Pearl River system. Whether the number of cities or the scale of cities, the east and the middle are higher than the west, and the middle and lower reaches are higher than the upstream. In addition, compared with the Yellow River and the Yangtze River, the Pearl River water system has a large number of cities, but the scale of the cities is generally small, lacking of large and medium-sized cities, and the driving capacity of the region is relatively weak.
