唐顺之晚节与事功考辨

【摘要】：长期以来,因为唐顺之晚岁出仕所遭受的毁谤,使得历史上对其事功的评价始终存在争议。 本文从唐顺之晚岁出山任职、核查蓟镇兵额、南方抗倭三方面,对其晚节问题进行辨析,认为其出仕虽由严嵩而起,但却是在严嵩强行相邀的情况下被迫作出的决定,且当时东南倭患严重,唐顺之出仕担任兵职早就成了众望所归。在王仔之死与抗倭不利的问题上,王仔之子王世贞对唐顺之的毁谤直接导致了后来张居正、徐学谟等人对唐顺之品德和事功的全面否定,因而关于唐顺之晚节问题的种种谣传是基于一些人的利益需要而被逐渐建构起来的。 排除这些因素可以发现,唐顺之在晚年出仕后的短短两年内在处理蓟镇边务、南方抗倭、淮扬赈灾时均取得了一定的实绩。虽然在客观环境的局限下,他的事功并未在当时从根本上扭转抗倭不利的局面,但其事功中所体现的经世思想却通过在常州各大宗族内部的传递影响到了明末的东林党,乃至清代的常州学派,并最终被康有为应用于维新变法运动。因而,对于唐顺之的事功应该给予肯定的评价。
[Abstract]:For a long time, due to the slander suffered by Tang Shunzhi, the historical evaluation of his achievements has always been controversial. From Tang Shunzhi's late early years in office, check the Thistle town soldiers, southern anti-Japanese three aspects, to its late festival problem differentiation and analysis, think that its official from Yan Song, but is forced to make the decision under the circumstances of Yan Song forced to invite each other. And at that time the Southeast was seriously affected, Tang Shunzhi as a military post has long become popular. On the question of Wang Tsai's death and unfavorable anti-Japanese, Wang Shizhen's slanderous remarks against Tang Shunzhi led directly to the complete negation of Tang Shunzhi's moral character and achievements by Zhang Juzheng, Xu Xuemu and others. Therefore, rumors about Tang Shunzhi Festival were gradually constructed on the basis of the interests of some people. It can be found that Tang Shunzhi has made some achievements in dealing with the thistle town in the short two years after he came out of office in his later years, the southern anti-Japanese and the Huaiyang disaster relief. Although under the limitation of the objective environment, his achievements did not fundamentally reverse the unfavorable situation of resisting the Japanese at that time, however, the thoughts of Confucian thought embodied in his work influenced the Donglin Party at the end of the Ming Dynasty through the transmission within the major clans of Changzhou. Even the Changzhou School in the Qing Dynasty was eventually applied by Kang Youwei to the Reform Movement. Therefore, Tang Shunzhi's work should be given a positive evaluation.
