[Abstract]:(Mechthild Leutner), a German Sinologist, graduated from Bochum University in Germany with a Ph.D. in Sinology. He worked at the Institute of East Asian Studies at the Free University of Berlin, Germany, in 1978, where he studied contemporary Chinese politics. In 2004, he became the only professor of Sinology at the East Asian Institute, and was also president of the Confucius Institute of the Free University of Berlin.
