中土佛教“迎像”风俗小探

【摘要】：中土寺庙中僧俗供养的佛像,除了一些就地塑造难以移动以外,大都是从他处请来的。当信徒在迎请这些佛像时,会伴随一定的仪式,然后安置到寺庙等处供养。这种请像的过程统称为迎像,以"迎"显示对佛像的虔敬。而迎请佛像的目的除了作为僧俗的供养外,还有其他一些具有民俗特征的功能和目的,如:祈雨、治病、镇寺、忏悔、妆点法会、祈福、种因果,不一而等。
[Abstract]:Buddhist statues provided by monks in Middle Earth temples are mostly imported from other places, except that they are hard to be molded in place. As believers greet the statues, they are followed by rituals and placed in temples and other places. The process of asking for a statue is generally referred to as "greeting" to show reverence for the Buddha statue. The purpose of accepting Buddha statue is not only to offer it as a monk's custom, but also to have some folklore functions and purposes, such as praying for rain, curing illness, town temple, repentance, makeup law, blessing, causality, and so on.
