功能对等理论指导下《时代周刊》有关ISIS文章的长句翻译研究

【摘要】：《时代周刊》是美国三大时事报道评论周刊之一,内容涵盖广,涉及经济、政治、军事、文化等各方面,对国内问题、国际重大事件发表评论性文章并进行持续跟踪报道。"伊斯兰国"日益猖獗,先后在伊拉克、法国、土耳其等多地发动恐怖袭击。《时代周刊》刊登了系列评述伊斯兰国的文章,多角度多方面分析评论其行为、目的、及影响。在翻译过程中,笔者遇到的最大问题即长句翻译处理。因此本翻译报告基于《时代周刊》中关于"伊斯兰国"的报道及评论文章,分析如何处理翻译中的长句。功能对等理论由奈达提出,他认为翻译是用恰当、自然的语言重现原文本信息,并且对等存在于四方面即词汇、句法、篇章和文体,其中意义最为重要,形式次之。奈达的观点指导了此翻译项目的翻译过程,使笔者不拘泥于原文的形式,用符合中文习惯的表达方式和语言习惯再现原文本信息。本翻译报告将翻译实践中的长句进行分类,分成修饰语多和插入语复杂两个大类,进而细分成句类修饰、词类修饰、名词插入语、短语插入语和分句插入语等类,并在功能对等理论指导下,结合实例,总结出断句、重构、包孕、分译、倒置等具体翻译方法,以实现信息完整传递,目标读者与原文读者相似反应的效果。
[Abstract]:Time is one of the three major current affairs review magazines in the United States, covering a wide range of economic, political, military, cultural, and domestic issues. The Islamic State is becoming increasingly rampant, launching terrorist attacks in Iraq, France, Turkey, and many other places. Time magazine published a series of articles commenting on the Islamic State. Analysis of its behavior, purpose, and influence from various angles and aspects. In the process of translation, Therefore, this translation report is based on time magazine's reports and comments on the Islamic State, and analyzes how to deal with long sentences in translation. The functional equivalence theory is put forward by Nida. In his opinion, translation is to reproduce the original text in appropriate and natural language, and equivalence exists in four aspects: vocabulary, syntax, text and style, in which the meaning is the most important. Nida's point of view guided the translation process of this translation project and made the author not stick to the form of the original text. This translation report classifies long sentences in translation practice into two major categories: the number of modifiers and the complexity of inserts, which are further subdivided into sentence modification and part of speech modification. Noun inserts, phrasal inserts and clause inserts are classified, and under the guidance of functional equivalence theory, combined with examples, concrete translation methods such as break, reconstruction, inclusion, division, inversion and so on, are summarized in order to realize the complete transmission of information. The effect of a similar reaction between the target reader and the original reader.
