基于评价理论的英汉小说书评对比研究

【摘要】：小说书评作为当代信息载体之一,不仅能向读者介绍小说,更重要的是通过对小说的评论,能告诉读者小说的可读性及其欣赏价值所在,其往往包括对于小说的故事情节、人物形象及社会影响力的评价概述,蕴含了丰富的态度、介入、级差资源,隐藏着作者-读者等多方位对话关系。以往研究大部分集中在对于书评的本体研究,或者运用评价理论分析书评子类,如语言学学术书评、传记类书评等,对于小说书评的评价资源及英汉小说书评的对比研究甚少。本文运用评价理论,对比分析英汉小说书评中态度、介入、级差资源的分布特征。通过对比英汉小说书评中各自评价资源分布情况,旨在揭示书评者如何通过评价资源来实现对小说的价值评价,并进一步结合小说书评的语类结构,探讨在不同阶段中呈现的评价资源特征,揭示英汉小说书评中不同评价资源分布特点及其孳生理据。因此,本文对以下三个问题作出了回答：(1)英语小说书评中态度、介入、级差资源及其在语类结构中的分布情况如何?(2)汉语小说书评中态度、介入、级差资源及其在语类结构中的分布情况如何?(3)英汉小说书评在态度、介入、级差资源及其在语类结构中的分布差异有哪些?其孳生理据是什么?本文采用定量和定性相结合的研究方法,运用UAM Corpus Tool语料库标注检索软件和SPSS统计软件,对当前流行的书评刊物或网站的各45篇英汉小说书评进行了对比分析。研究发现,第一,总体而言,英汉小说书评在评价资源分布上存在显著差异。英语小说书评中,评价资源总体分布从高至低为介入、态度、级差。而汉语小说书评中,其从高至低为态度、介入、级差。第二,就态度资源而言,两种小说书评中,鉴赏资源频率均高,但汉语小说书评呈现出更多的情感投入和道德裁决,而英语小说书评更注重个人能力价值判断。汉语小说书评者采用更多礼貌策略,避免情感冲突,而英语小说书评中情感的正负语义赋值均当,从而更理性、更客观。第三,就介入资源而言,英汉小说书评中借言资源均高于自言资源,但汉语小说书评者更注重对话压缩资源,采用反期望策略,以致出乎意料,从而增强书评趣味性,而英语小说书评中呈现更多的是对话扩展资源,通过可能性,来引发潜在多方位对话空间。第四,就级差资源而言,通过对话语程度和范畴典型性语义赋值,在英汉小说书评中均发挥重要作用,差异并不显著。第五,就语类结构而言,英语小说书评呈现出从属组构模式,直线型推理方式,层层升华。而汉语小说书评则以主题定位,采用并列组构模式,动之以情,呈现出迂回型构造,层层环绕。另外,本文从意识形态建构、民族性格建构、思维方式建构三个方面更深层次地分析英汉小说书评中评价资源分布不同的孳生理据。总之,本文从评价理论视角,对比分析了英汉小说书评中评价资源分布特征及其原因。本文的研究结论应该在小说价值欣赏、书评教学及其写作等方面有一定理论参考价值和实践指导作用。
