老舍小说中的外国人形象及其文化思考

【摘要】：老舍小说中作为“他者”的外国人形象是一个具有丰富内涵的形象谱系,有英国人、日本人、意大利人、美国人、新加坡华人、印度人和马来西亚人。老舍塑造这些人物形象,寄寓着国民性反思和民族文化的深刻思考。本文运用比较文学形象学的研究方法,以老舍长篇小说中塑造的外国人形象为研究内容,从外国人形象书写的文化背景、异域文化的凝视与审思、构建映照母国文化的镜像和外国人形象书写的文学意义四个方面来展开论述。老舍小说中之所以书写众多外国人形象,乃是作家的海外经历、所处的时代历史语境、独特的个人情感体验诸多因素共同“合力”作用下的创作选择。这些异国人形象,旨在对异国文化予以审视和凝思。作家客观冷静地透过外国人形象,理性剖析了异族文化中殖民主义者的傲慢、金钱崇拜等缺陷及其背后的原因。在审视异国文化的同时,老舍试图探掘“他者”文化中理性务实、意志品质等优秀成分,并予以激赏,以此建构观察中国文化的一种参照系统,以期改造中国之国民性。老舍小说中外国人形象的塑造具有多方面的文学意义。他塑造的一些外国人形象,有的是现代文学史上首次出现,亦有着“这一个”意义;书写“他者”形象,也为国民性书写拓展了新的创作路向;在与异域文化的映照中,也挖掘出传统文化中的道德力量和民族气节。
[Abstract]:The image of foreigners in Lao She's novels as "the other" is a genealogy of images with rich connotations, including British, Japanese, Italian, American, Singaporean Chinese, Indian and Malaysian.Lao She portrays these characters and embodies the reflection of national character and the profound thinking of national culture.Using the method of comparative literature imageology, this paper takes the image of foreigners created in Lao She's novels as the research content, from the cultural background of the writing of foreigners' images, the gaze and reflection of foreign cultures.This paper discusses the four aspects of constructing the mirror image of the culture of the country and the literary significance of the writing of the image of foreigners.The reason why Lao She wrote many images of foreigners in his novels is the writer's overseas experience, the historical context of his time and his unique personal emotional experience.These alien images are designed to examine and reflect on foreign cultures.Through the image of foreigners objectively and calmly, the writer analyzes rationally the defects of the colonialists' arrogance and money worship in alien cultures and the reasons behind them.While examining the foreign culture, Lao She tried to explore the rational and pragmatic elements of the "other" culture, the quality of will and so on, and to reward them so as to construct a reference system for observing Chinese culture in order to transform the national character of China.The portrayal of foreigners in Lao She's novels has many literary meanings.Some of the images he created for foreigners appeared for the first time in the history of modern literature, and also had the meaning of "this one". Writing the image of "the other" also opened up a new direction of creation for the writing of the national character.Also excavate the moral strength and ethos in the traditional culture.
