[Abstract]:Hundreds of thousands of African-Americans left rural South during the two World Wars (1913-1945) and migrated to industrial cities in the North, known as "Great Immigrant" (the Great Migration). In fact, black people have been moving from the South to the North since the 1880s, a trend that grew by the start of the second decade of the 20th century. Brinkley (Alan Brinkley), an American historian, summed up immigration as the result of "exclusion" and "inclusion." Exclusion is a negative factor facing blacks in the South, such as lynchings and harsh apartheid. And inclusion was what the North showed during this period that greatly improved the lives of black people.
