【摘要】：《呐喊》是作家鲁迅最具代表性的著作之一，在中国现代文学史上占据重要地位。该书被认为是具有划时代意义的杰作和中国文学发展史的里程碑。随着国际间文化交流的日益增多，文学经典英译已然成为趋势。《呐喊》的翻译对于传播中国文化具有深远意义，然而，其所蕴含的丰富文化信息又给翻译带来了诸多挑战，，值得细致深入研究。由符号学和语言学发展而来的社会符号学翻译理论着重强调语言符号的两大主要成分，即意义与功能。莫里斯总结的三种符号学意义分别是：指称意义，言内意义和语用意义。与此同时，纽马克将语言功能分成六大类，即：信息功能，表达功能，审美功能，寒暄功能,祈使功能，以及元语言功能。社会符号学翻译理论的核心是符号学意义观，该理论认为翻译即翻译意义，并且意义与功能是语言中不可分离的两个方面。因而，翻译应该符合“意义相符，功能相似”的标准。基于社会符号学意义观，本文以《呐喊》及杨宪益、戴乃迭英译本CalltoArms为文本，结合陈宏薇提出的“意义相符，功能相似”的翻译标准分别对《呐喊》和杨宪益译本中的具体实例进行了汉英对比分析，进而揭示了在文学作品翻译中充分再现源语文本中的指称言内语用意义以及实现源语语言功能的得与失，并且总结了译者常用的翻译策略。总的来说，社会符号学意义观不仅强调语言符号而且也重视非语言符号对文本意义和整个翻译过程的决定和影响作用。社会符号学理论从语言的符号性特点出发，着重语言的意义与功能。该方法将翻译从传统的主观“对等”标准的束缚中解放出来，为翻译研究提供了一个相对全面客观的理论视角。因而，本文证明了社会符号学意义观对当代中国文学经典作品翻译的指导作用，进而为后续的翻译研究与评介提供了一定的借鉴。
[Abstract]:< > cry is one of the most representative writers of Lu Xun's works, China occupies an important position in the history of modern literature. The book is considered milepost epoch-making masterpiece and Chinese literature history. Along with the increasing of international cultural exchange, translation of literary classics has become the trend. < > cry the translation for the dissemination of Chinese culture has far-reaching significance, however, it contains rich cultural information and translation has brought many challenges, worthy of in-depth study.
The social symbol consists of semiotics and Linguistics and the translation theory emphasizes two main components of language symbols, meaning and function. The three symbols of Maurice summarized the significance are: referential meaning, linguistic meaning and pragmatic meaning. At the same time, "the functions of language can be divided into six categories, namely: information the function, expression function, aesthetic function, phatic function, vocative function, and metalinguistic function. The core of social semiotic translation theory is the semiotic meaning theory, the theory that translation is translating meaning, and meaning and function are two aspects can not be separated from language. Thus, translation should comply with the" correspondence in meaning, similar function "standard.
The meaning of social semiotics view based on the < > cry and Yang Xianyi, Gladys English version of CalltoArms for text, with consistent meaning "raised by Chen Hongwei, functionally similar" translation standards were analyzed for specific examples of Chinese and English versions of Yang Xianyi < > and cry, and revealed in the translation of literary works in reference to fully reproduce the source text? Words? Pragmatic meaning and language features of the source language and the translator, and summarizes the commonly used translation strategies.
In general, the social semiotic meaning theory emphasizes not only the language but also the importance of non language symbol meaning of text and the translation process decision and influence function. The theory of social semiotics from the perspective of symbolic language characteristics, focuses on the language meaning and function. This method will emancipate himself from the traditional subjective "equivalence translation" standard, provides a relatively comprehensive and objective theoretical perspective for translation studies. Therefore, this paper proves that the guiding role of social semiotic meaning theory to contemporary literary classics China translation, provides a reference for further research and review of translation in the future.
