空缺填补:文学翻译中意义的动态建构

【摘要】: 翻译是以一种语言将另一种语言的信息重新表达出来,是以语言转换的形式使原文本中的意义重新呈现。在文学翻译中,文学作品作为原文本是翻译的起点,是意义的源泉。译者可以从多个角度、多个层面对原文本的意义进行理解,但是理解只能是原文本的意义经由语言传达出来的一种可能性。在文学作品的语言表达与意义之间永远都存在有一种张力,这种张力即“空缺”,是意义向语言表达的不断生成过程。基于这种认识,本文以加达默尔的两个概念“前理解”及“视域融合”为出发点,以阐释学理论为框架,从语音、词汇、句法和篇章四个层面对文学作品中的“空缺”现象进行探讨,旨在揭示出译者对意义的理解只能是一种建立在人的认识论基础上的“空缺”填补和动态建构。 本文共分五章。第一章是引论部分。本章首先指出翻译理论中对可译性和不可译性的争论即是对“空缺”现象的一种争论,是对翻译中常出现的一种由于语言和文化的原因而引起的无对应词和语义不对应等一系列“等值缺失”的现象的争论。然后在对语言和文化的本质进行探讨的基础上证实“空缺”存在的必然性,并进一步提出以“空缺”来观照文本的意义是如何在另一种语言中重新呈现。 第二章是对翻译理论中“空缺”现象的文献回顾。本章把翻译理论大致分为两个大的流派:语言学派和文化派。语言学派以布拉格学派的雅可布逊、伦敦学派的皮特·纽马克以及交际理论派的奈达为代表。他们在结构主义的影响下,通过对翻译的简化,把翻译的有效性建立在了语言单位上的对等,将翻译视为一种语言形式上的等值效应。文化派则以苏珊·巴斯内特和勒弗费尔为代表,他们把文学作品看作是文化的载体,把翻译看成是对原作品中的文化现象的重现。因此,对于这两个翻译理论流派来说,文学作品中的意义或者是一种语言在形式上对等,或者是一种对语言意义的无限泛化。语言表达与意义之间的张力被无形中简化或者夸大了,而这种“空缺”实际上正是文本意义的来源。 第三章是提出“空缺”现象的理论依据。本章依据加达默尔的“前理解”即人对于任何事物的理解都是一种“偏见”,提出“前理解”是意义“空缺”现象产
[Abstract]:Translation is the re-expression of information in another language in one language, and the re-presentation of meaning in the original text in the form of linguistic transformation. In literary translation, literary works as the original text are the starting point of translation. The translator can understand the meaning of the original text from a variety of angles and levels. But understanding can only be a possibility that the meaning of the original text is conveyed by language. There is always a tension between the language expression and the meaning of a literary work. This tension, which is called "vacancy", is a continuous process of meaning to language expression. Based on this understanding, this paper starts with Gadamer's two concepts "pre-understanding" and "horizon fusion", and takes hermeneutics theory as the framework, from the perspective of phonetics. This paper probes into the phenomenon of "vacancy" in literary works at the lexical, syntactic and textual levels in order to reveal that the translator's understanding of meaning can only be a kind of "vacancy" filling and dynamic construction based on human epistemology. This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction. Firstly, this chapter points out that the debate on translatability and untranslatability in translation theory is a kind of controversy about the phenomenon of "vacancy". It is an argument about a series of "missing equivalence" phenomena, such as the absence of correspondence words and semantic incorrespondence caused by language and culture, which often occur in translation. Then, it is based on the discussion of the essence of language and culture. On the basis of confirming the inevitability of the existence of "vacancy", Furthermore, the author puts forward how the meaning of the text can be reappeared in another language. Chapter two is a literature review of the phenomenon of "vacancy" in translation theory. This chapter divides translation theory into two major schools: linguistic school and cultural school. Peter Newmark of the London School and Nida of the communicative Theory School, who, under the influence of structuralism, simplified translation, built the effectiveness of translation on the equivalence of linguistic units. Translation is seen as an equivalent effect in language form. The culturalists, represented by Susan Bassnett and Leferfel, see literature as a carrier of culture. To regard translation as a reproduction of cultural phenomena in the original works. Therefore, for these two schools of translation theory, the meaning of literary works or the formal equivalence of a language, Or an infinite generalization of the meaning of language. The tension between language expression and meaning is imperceptibly simplified or exaggerated, and this "vacancy" is actually the source of textual meaning. Chapter three is the theoretical basis of the phenomenon of "vacancy". This chapter is based on Gadamer's "pre-understanding", that is, human understanding of anything is a "bias", and points out that "pre-understanding" is the meaning of "vacancy" phenomenon.
