框架理论下莎剧中多义词Blood的翻译

【摘要】:莎士比亚戏剧是一座语言宝库,莎剧的翻译和研究经久不衰。随着认知语言学研究的兴盛,认知视角的翻译研究日渐成为一种新范式,莎剧翻译的认知研究能够为莎剧的跨文化理解提供新路径。 一词多义是普遍的语言现象,蕴含了丰富的修辞内涵,加上跨文化差异的影响,一词多义的“翻译对等”较难把握和实现,是翻译的一大难题:一词多义的产生机制有赖于一定的概念框架和隐喻认知模式,尤其以身体词多义的隐喻模式最为典型,因人类的认知习惯是由近及远、从具体到抽象,人们自己熟悉的身体器官和部位常被用来充当认知的出发点,再通过隐喻映射到其他认知域。莎剧中一词多义数量庞大,身体词汇的一词多义占有相当比重。基于这一点,本文结合莎剧原著及相关流行译本,用框架理论来探讨莎剧中身体词blood的多义产生,多义投射的不同框架,和不同框架下的翻译策略。 本研究通过对莎剧37个剧本中的blood进行相关表达的语料检索和整理,结合人们惯用的框架和隐喻认知模式,对多义词blood投射到的认知框架、次框架进行分类;在相应框架下,从语言的表现形式上对blood进行修辞探讨,在语言的意义传达层面对blood进行认知隐喻的多义分析。 本研究认为框架理论下的翻译研究,首要是区分源语和目的语投射的不同框架,并找到原型语言表达式来激活相应框架,以此达到翻译有效对等;而语言表达式蕴含在意义的产生机制里,一定程度上可以是源语所属的框架类型,所以分析源语的内涵意义最为关键。根据莎剧中多义词blood投射到的不同框架,并结合具体语境,可以通过对等译法、抽象译法、增减词译法、原型表达式译法、转化框架译法等途径来实现blood一词多义在语义层面和文化层面的对等翻译。
[Abstract]:Shakespeare's plays are a treasure trove of language, and the translation and research of Shakespeare's plays have been going on for a long time. With the development of cognitive linguistics, the study of translation from a cognitive perspective has become a new paradigm. Cognitive studies on Shakespeare's translation can provide a new path for her cross-cultural understanding. Polysemy is a universal linguistic phenomenon, which contains rich rhetorical connotations, combined with the influence of cross-cultural differences, it is difficult to grasp and realize the polysemous "translation equivalence". Polysemy is a difficult problem in translation: the mechanism of polysemy depends on a certain conceptual framework and metaphorical cognitive model, especially the metaphorical model of body word polysemy, because human cognitive habits are from near to far, from concrete to abstract. People's own familiar body organs and parts are often used as the starting point of cognition, and then mapped to other cognitive domains through metaphor. Based on Shakespeare's original works and relevant popular translations, this paper uses frame theory to explore the polysemous production, polysemy projection and translation strategies of body word blood. The present study classifies the cognitive framework and sub-frame projected by polysemous word blood through correlation-related corpus retrieval and collation of blood in 37 plays of Shakespeare's plays, combined with the usual framework and metaphorical cognitive model. This paper probes into the rhetoric of blood from the aspect of the expression of language and analyzes the polysemy of cognitive metaphor of blood at the level of language meaning communication. The present study holds that translation studies based on frame theory mainly focus on distinguishing the different frames of source and target language projection and finding prototype language expressions to activate the corresponding frameworks in order to achieve effective equivalence in translation. But the language expression contains in the meaning generation mechanism, may be the source language to belong to the frame type to some extent, therefore the analysis source language connotation meaning is most crucial. According to the Sha drama polysemous word blood projects the different frame, In combination with specific context, equivalent translation of polysemy of blood can be realized at semantic and cultural level by means of equivalent translation, abstract translation, addition and subtraction translation, prototype expression translation and transformation frame translation.
