《红楼梦》英译本隐喻的翻译方式初探

【摘要】：语言文化向来都是中国古典文学重要组成部分,代表中国古典文学中更具价值的是语言文化背后的思想文化内涵。隐喻这一写作手法向来是中国古典文学表达其背后深厚文化内涵的惯用手段,《红楼梦》中的隐喻作为其英译本版本的一个重要的叙事语式很是值得重视。翻译的文化功能在于文化交流,即对其他民族文化的理解、介绍和吸收。在众多《红楼梦》的英译本中,霍克斯的《红楼梦》全译本比较具有代表性,它是从一个西方文化学者的角度对中国古典文学进行探讨与研究。本文不仅要把隐喻作为一种修辞现象,更视为一种翻译方式进行探讨,从译者翻译隐喻的文化底蕴的方法,探讨他在创造性叛逆下的文化共性和个性对译本的正负调节作用。
[Abstract]:Language and culture have always been an important part of Chinese classical literature, representing the more valuable of Chinese classical literature is the ideological and cultural connotation behind language culture. Metaphor has always been the usual means of expressing the profound cultural connotations behind it in Chinese classical literature. As an important narrative language in the English version of A Dream of Red Mansions, metaphor is worthy of attention. The cultural function of translation lies in cultural communication, that is, the understanding, introduction and absorption of other cultures. Among the many English versions of A Dream of Red Mansions, the full version of the Dream of Red Mansions by Hawkes is more representative. It is a study of classical Chinese literature from the perspective of a western cultural scholar. In this paper, metaphor is not only a rhetorical phenomenon, but also a translation method. From the perspective of the cultural connotation of the translator's translation metaphor, this paper explores the positive and negative effects of his cultural commonality and individuality on the translation under creative treason.
