从关联理论看儿童文学翻译

【摘要】：儿童文学翻译因为其读者的特殊性成为文学翻译中一个重要却为人忽略的组成部分。由于儿童有其独特的认知能力水平和中西文化差距,儿童文学翻译对于译者来说是一项极具挑战性的工作。本文作者拟从关联理论的角度对儿童文学翻译进行分析。通过对几篇儿童现代幻想小说中的大量翻译实例,成功的或失败的,进行详尽的分析,并以关联理论的视角总结归纳译者在儿童文学翻译中确保交际成功的一些切实可行的翻译策略。 关联理论认为人类有寻求关联的本能。儿童自然也不例外。话语的关联性包括两个方面:1)特定场景下该话语的语境效果要值得花费加工努力;2)特定场景下理解该话语的分析努力要最小。因此语境效果和分析的努力程度是衡量翻译是否关联的两个重要标准。本文作者认为要达到最佳关联效果译者应在考虑读者的认知语境和期待的基础上使他的翻译符合读者的能力和期待要求从而取得最佳关联效果而确保交际成功。
[Abstract]:Children's literary translation has become an important but neglected part of literary translation because of its readers' particularity. Children's literary translation is a challenging task for translators due to their unique cognitive ability and cultural gap between China and the West. The author intends to analyze the translation of children's literature from the perspective of relevance theory. Through a detailed analysis of a large number of examples of translation, successful or unsuccessful, from several children's modern fantasy novels, Some practical translation strategies to ensure successful communication between translators in children's literature translation are summarized from the perspective of relevance theory. Relevance theory holds that humans have an instinct to seek relevance. Children are no exception. The relevance of utterance includes two aspects: 1) the contextual effect of the utterance should be worth the processing effort in a particular scenario, and 2) the analysis effort to understand the utterance in a particular scenario should be minimal. Therefore, contextual effect and analytical effort are two important criteria to measure the relevance of translation. The author holds that to achieve the best relevance effect, the translator should make his translation conform to the reader's ability and expectation, on the basis of considering the reader's cognitive context and expectation, so as to achieve the best relevance effect and ensure the success of the communication.
