论《红高粱家族》英译本中的文化误读

多年来,中国的作品都面临着无法走出国门的窘境。随着莫言成为中国第一个诺贝尔文学奖获得者,其作品译者葛浩文也受到诸多关注。但通过对其译文的分析不难发现,当中存在多处文化误读现象。本文以美国知名翻译家葛浩文翻译的莫言的《红高粱家族》为例,通过分析其译本中出现的文化误读,借助接受理论来进一步论证产生文化误读的必然性和必要性。进而在接受理论的框架下分析产生该文化误读的原因及产生的效果。通过分析葛浩文的译作,我们也可以从中得到很多启示。其中一个就是如何将我们的经典作品和文化送出国门发扬光大。不妨借鉴葛浩文翻译中所采用的一些方法,借助文化误读的这个外衣适当发挥译者主观能动性。只有这样,我们才有机会将让更多的作品走向世界舞台。但必须反复强调的是,这并不是鼓励自由无度的误读。我们需要做的是在误读和忠实找到平衡点。
