[Abstract]:The original series was introduced by Foreign Teachers from Palgrave Publishing House. It can be called a condensed literary encyclopedia dictionary, which includes not only the introduction of the basic knowledge of literature, but also an overview and analysis of the main literary stages in Britain. Each volume is divided into three sections: "background", "text" and "criticism": "background" summarizes the historical, social and cultural background of literary creation; "text" focuses on the theme of writers and works; "criticism" introduces critical methods. Theory and practice Each volume lists selected entries in alphabetical order, with an extended bibliography attached below, followed by a chronicle.
