[Abstract]:Arthur Conan Doyle is the author of western detective novels. On the basis of inheriting Allan Poe, he raised the field of expression of detective literature to a new height. With his rigorous scientific thinking and careful logical reasoning, his Sherlock Holmes series aroused the great interest of modern Chinese intellectuals committed to strengthening the nation, and was translated and introduced to modern readers. The introduction of Holmes series has a great influence on the Chinese traditional narrative mode. It has changed the reading habits and appreciation tastes of modern readers in the aspects of narrative perspective, structure and time, which directly contributed to the birth of Chinese detective novels. The early works of Cheng Xiao-qing in the first Man of Chinese Detective Fiction have obvious traces of imitation of Conan Doyle, and there are certain similarities between the two texts. This paper takes Cheng Xiao-qing 's imitation of Conan Doyle as the starting point, adopts the method of influence research, systematically combs the relationship between the two, and probes into the variation and reason of Holmes story after entering our country. The influence on Cheng Xiao-qing, who is the recipient, and the Chinese detective literature, then reveals their respective characteristics and the literary and cultural traditions behind them through the comparison of the similarities and differences between the two series of stories, Sherlock Holmes and Hawthorne. This paper is divided into three parts: introduction, text, conclusion, and the text is divided into three chapters. The first chapter "the acceptance of Holmes in China" mainly combed the history of the literary acceptance of Holmes story in China during the period from 1896 to the founding of New China. It also discusses the acceptance of Conan Doyle by Cheng Xiao-qing, who is the recipient of the influence study. The second chapter "text comparison" mainly carries on the comparative analysis from the thought content, the character image, the text openness and the expectation vision. The author finds that there are great differences between the two works. Ideological content: from the social perspective to focus on family ethics, Conan Doyle and Cheng Xiao-ching show their appreciation and introspection on capitalist modernity, while Sherlock Holmes is a "cold superman". Hawthorne is a "passionate mortal", the opening aspect of the text: the two models of text information transmission are "bottom-up" and "top-down", showing a semi-open and open in front of readers. From the perspective of expectation: Holmes story and Hawthorne story reflect the western readers'"advocating wisdom" and the Chinese readers'"pure official complex" respectively. The third chapter, "the function of detective novels-teaching in fun", mainly uses the relevant theories of reception aesthetics to analyze Conan Doyle and Cheng Xiao-qing 's different emphasis on the entertainment and practical functions of detective stories.
