基于翻译文学在文学多元系统中的地位比较Gone with the Wind的两个中译本

【摘要】: 多元系统理论把翻译文学看成是文学多元系统的一个不可或缺的组成部分。翻译文学在文学多元系统中所处的位置会对译者的翻译行为模式产生影响,当翻译文学在文学多元系统中处于中心地位时,翻译活动会参与创造译入语文学中新的、一级模式,并作为革新力量不但引进新的思想,而且引进新的文学模式。在这种情况下,译者通常会打破本国文学的规范,采取异化的翻译策略,从而使译本保持原文的“充分性”。当翻译文学处于文学多元系统的边缘地位时,译者会为外国的文本寻找最佳的现成二级模式,成为保守的力量,于是译者通常会采取归化翻译策略,包括对所译作品随意删减、或是把原作生硬地套入译入语文学中的现成模式,结果导致译本的“充分性不足”,产生出在译入语文化中读者更容易接受的译本。 本研究以以色列学者埃文·佐哈尔的多元系统理论的观点为理论依据,即翻译文学在文学多元系统中的位置会对翻译的规范、行为模式、翻译策略产生影响,分析了美国作家玛格丽特·米切尔的小说Gone with the Wind的两个中译本,分别是傅东华于1940年翻译的《飘》和陈良廷等于1990年翻译的《乱世佳人》。本文采用描述性比较的方法从词汇、句法、篇章三个方面对两个不同时期的译本中所体现的翻译策略进行研究,以说明翻译文学在文学多元系统中的不同地位对译者翻译策略产生的影响。这两个译本产生的时间相隔半个世纪,在此期间,翻译文学在我国文学多元系统中的地位发生了巨大的变化,翻译文学逐渐从边缘地位走向中心地位。20世纪40年代翻译文学在我国文学多元系统中处于边缘地位,因此在傅东华的译本《飘》中,他倾向于采取归化的翻译策略;20世纪90年代,翻译文学逐渐走入我国文学多元系统的中心地位,因此,在陈良廷等的译本《乱世佳人》中,他们倾向于采取异化的翻译策略。
[Abstract]:The theory of pluralistic system regards translation literature as an indispensable part of literary pluralistic system. The position of translation literature in the multi-system of literature will have an impact on the translation behavior pattern of the translator. When the translation literature is in the central position in the multi-system of literature, translation activities will participate in the creation of a new, first-level model in the translation literature. And as a force of innovation not only to introduce new ideas, but also to introduce a new literary model. In this case, translators usually break the norms of their own literature and adopt dissimilated translation strategies to keep the source text "sufficient". When translation literature is on the edge of multiple literary systems, the translator will find the best ready-made secondary model for foreign texts and become a conservative force. Therefore, the translator will usually adopt the strategy of domestication, including the arbitrary deletion of the translated works. Or the ready-made model of the original text into the language literature, resulting in the "insufficient" of the translation, resulting in a more acceptable version in the target language culture. The present study is based on the viewpoint of Israeli scholar Evan Zohar's theory of multiple systems, that is, the position of translation literature in the multi-system of literature will have an impact on the norms, behavior patterns and translation strategies of translation. This paper analyzes two Chinese versions of Margaret Mitchell's novel Gone with the Wind, which are translated by Fu Donghua in 1940 and Chen Liangting in 1990. In this paper, descriptive comparison is used to study the translation strategies in two different periods of translation from three aspects: lexical, syntactic and textual. This paper illustrates the influence of different positions of translation literature on translators' translation strategies. The time between the two versions was half a century. During this period, the position of translation literature in the pluralistic system of Chinese literature has changed greatly. Translation literature has gradually moved from marginal position to central position. In 1940s, translation literature was in a marginal position in the pluralistic system of Chinese literature. Therefore, in Fu Donghua's version gone with the Wind, he tended to adopt a domesticated translation strategy. In the 1990s, translation literature gradually entered the central position of the pluralistic system of Chinese literature. Therefore, in Chen Liangting's version "gone with the Wind", they tend to adopt the strategy of dissimilation.
