[Abstract]:Searle's theory of indirect speech act provides a new angle of view for the study of contemporary literary theory. It is of great significance and value for the comprehensive explanation of the nature, motivation and mechanism of literary activities. It can be found that literature is essentially an indirect speech act, which exists not only as an objective literary fact, but also throughout the whole process of literary activity. In literary activities, the writer's creation is a process of doing things with words indirectly, the literary text is a concrete means of acting indirectly by words, and the reader's reading is the object of accepting indirect speech acts that take effect from words. The whole process of literary indirect speech act is the process in which the writer attaches its intentionality or deep intention to the literal meaning of the literary speech and then transmits it to the reader. That is, "preparation condition", "propositional content condition", "sincere condition" and "basic condition". Only when these rules are satisfied, can literary indirect speech act be carried out smoothly.
