翻译适应选择论视角下葛浩文英译《丰乳肥臀》研究

【摘要】：翻译界经历文化转向后,翻译研究发展更加多元化,译者主体地位日渐凸显。胡庚申受达尔文生物进化论启发提出了翻译适应选择论,将翻译实质概括为“译者适应翻译生态环境的选择活动”,即翻译就是“适应”和“选择”。值得一提的是,该理论将翻译方法概括为“三维”转换,即在多维度适应与适应性选择的原则之下,集中于语言维、文化维和交际维的适应性选择转换。本文以葛浩文《丰乳肥臀》英译文本为例,尝试在翻译适应选择论的视角下分析葛浩文适应翻译生态环境做出的选择性适应和适应性选择。此外,本文着重分析葛浩文在语言维、文化维、交际维的适应性选择转换,是研究葛浩文及其英译文本的一次有益尝试。在语言维层面,自建中英文原创语料库,借助语料库检索和分析软件WordSmith 6.0进行比对分析。在文化维和交际维层面,通过案例分析,探究葛浩文的适应性选择。研究表明,在语言维,葛浩文不仅实现了基本语义的转换,更实现了语言风格的转换；在文化维,葛浩文将归化、异化相结合,使译文更易于读者理解接受,同时在翻译中有选择地保留了中国特色；在交际维,葛浩文大量运用了增词的手法,并适当分割复杂长句,缩短句长以提高文本可读性,达到交际目的。葛浩文的三维转换使译文易于目标读者接受,体现了在翻译领域的“适者生存”。本文一方面借助翻译适应选择论分析了葛浩文《丰乳肥臀》英译文本,为葛浩文及其英译小说的研究开辟一条新途径。另一方面从一定程度上验证了翻译适应选择论指导翻译实践的可行性和价值。
