【摘要】：长时间以来,人们把翻译活动看作普通的语言转换。然而从本质而言,翻译是一项跨文化活动。为了避免将翻译研究局限于翻译技巧层面,本文从译者文化态度的角度出发分析译者文化态度多歧性,从而将研究置于文化研究之中。从多元文化系统的局限性出发,王东风指出译者对两种文化的态度也可能影响译本以及翻译策略的选择。在译者文化态度的基础上,王岫庐进一步提出了译者文化态度多歧性的概念,即认为译者在面临两种不同的文化的时候,可能出现一种多歧的文化态度,也可称为是一种类似中立的文化态度。译者作为沟通两种文化的桥梁,他们的态度并不是非黑即白。因此,译者面对两种的文化,在不同的语境下,可能会选取不同的态度,因而采用不同的翻译方法。葛浩文特殊的生活经历、教育背景以及他三十多年对中国文学的翻译与研究,使他成为一个与众不同的汉学家和翻译家,同时也使他的文化态度多歧性有了更多的可能性。借用文化态度多歧性这一概念,论文首先分析了葛浩文的文化态度多歧性的可能及原因,接着进一步分析这种文化态度多歧性对《呼兰河传》译本的影响,其中包括对译本选择,文本翻译以及副文本翻译的影响。研究发现,由于葛浩文的文化态度多歧性,《呼兰河传》译本明显采用了归化与异化相结合的翻译策略,不仅使译本保留了原文语言文化之美,同时也确保了译本的流畅性,促进了文化的交流与传播。
