【摘要】：作为中国四大古典名著之一,《西游记》在中国文学中占据着重要的地位。詹译本《西游记》因其忠实于原文而获得读者的一致好评。顺应论从一个全新的视角阐释语用学,是一个非常具有解释力及应用价值的语用学理论。本文以顺应论为指导,研究詹译本如何对各种语境作出顺应,进而分析其顺应的动态性及顺应过程的意识程度。顺应论由比利时语言学家杰夫·维索尔伦于1999年首次提出。该理论认为一切语言使用的过程都是不断进行顺应和选择的过程。语言具备三个特性:可变性、商讨性、顺应性。因此在描述和解释语言使用时,我们应该关注四个方面的信息:语境关系顺应;语言结构顺应;顺应的动态性;顺应过程的意识程度。根据顺应论,语境可划分为交际语境和语言语境。作为顺应论的核心,动态顺应主要指语言使用中“意义的动态生成”。意识程度主要涉及语言使用者的认知心理因素。翻译属于语言使用的范畴。由顺应论的基本观点可知,翻译活动是译者不断进行顺应和选择的过程。在理解原文与输出译文两个阶段,译者均需要对各种交际语境和语言语境进行顺应。本论文围绕三个研究问题展开,通过实例分别对詹译本如何顺应各种交际语境及语言语境进行了详细分析,顺应的动态性及顺应过程的意识程度也得以阐述。对交际语境的顺应体现在三个方面,物理世界、社交世界和心理世界的顺应。对物理世界的顺应以译本中时间表达语、空间表达语的翻译为例;对社交世界的顺应主要指对文化因素的顺应,本文以历史典故、宗教语及敬称谦称的翻译为例;对心理世界的顺应则从译者的目的及译语读者的认知能力两方面作出总结。对语言语境的顺应从语音、词汇、句法、语篇四个层面进行分析。顺应的动态性从三个角度作出阐释:时间顺应,不同语境对所语言选择的限制以及语言线性结构引起的灵活变化。关于顺应过程意识程度高低的分析,文章主要从原文作者以及译文读者两个方面进行概括性论述。该研究认为,詹纳尔翻译《西游记》的过程就是基于一定的目的,在较高的意识程度下做出动态选择及顺应的过程。这种顺应在原文理解和译文输出两方面都得到了体现。在顺应的过程中,译者灵活实现了直译与意译之间的转换,进而保证了原文的准确性和忠实性以及译文的通顺性和接受性。
