早期美国华裔文学初探

美国华人移民及其后裔是一个在东西方文化交流碰撞中集中体现融合与抵斥并存之矛盾的群体。在他们的文学作品中，既有文化的合流，又从不缺乏因撞击引起的种种问题与困扰。作为美国多元文化和世界移民现象重要产物的美国华裔文学在当代正开始受到越来越多的关注。 美国亚裔学者金依莲指出，美国华裔文学作品不仅仅具有文学意义，整体而言，它还兼顾了社会综述功能，更具有历史文献的重要价值。对于当代评论家来说，拥有详尽、准确的史料是解读文本、进行作品分析的一块基石；而对于当代读者而言，了解作者、文本所处的社会环境能够激发阅读兴趣，有助于免除不必要的误读和误解。 本篇论文旨在对早期暨18世纪晚期至20世纪60年代的美国华裔生活和他们的文学作品，及此两者间的关系及相互影响做一番较为仔细的梳理。以期用翔实可考的资料与分析丰富至此为止关于美国华裔文学早期阶段的研究。本文共分三章，第一章主要是历史考察和社会背景分析，因为这是美国华裔文学作品出现和存在的前提。第二章在时间跨度上包括了美国排华法案正式实施的60年(1882-1943)。第三章内容的时间跨度为1943年到60年代中期。全文主要从时间及历史事件的发展上理清脉络，在纵向上整体把握线索的同时做好每一个不同阶段的细分整理与文学作品分析。
