【摘要】：形象学研究的重心是文学作品中的异国形象问题,在文学的深层区域即各种象征网络中,文化想象物通过这些象征彼此区分、汇合。比较文学形象学主要探究跨文化语境下文学形象之间的相互影响。文学形象清楚地显示出意识形态的机制以及对社会集体想象物的描述。霍米巴巴的文化混杂理论所构建的身份认同设想出一个独特过渡性的第三空间,摒弃以往对异文化的两分方法论,而是关注文化接触、融合和断裂的复杂机制,促使双方达到真诚理解和对话的可能。 赛珍珠的作品中对于中国人形象的描述是基于她所生活的社会和时代背景,突出反映其本人在特殊的中西方的文化立场下对中国的“文化构想”,其中既有解读的成分,也有误读的成分。本文旨在通过对赛珍珠的在场式考察的作品《同胞》中的具有双重文化身份的中国人进行形象学文本分析,通过将自我表现为他者,对异文化进行反思,探索本土民族主义意识与文化帝国主义之间的平衡点。 本文在小说《同胞》的文本构架下于东西方两套参照系中分别研究意识形态化以及乌托邦化的中国人形象,并进行比较研究,超越西方视野与东西方二元对立的思维模式,在跨文化坐标系上的文化边际人完成自我文化身份认同和构建的过程中达到寻求异质文化沟通与互补的桥梁的最终目的。
