中国故事的异域讲述——英文版歌剧《红楼梦》论

【摘要】：旧金山歌剧院制作首部英文版歌剧《红楼梦》,首次将这部小说搬上西方歌剧舞台。该剧在主题、结构、情节、人物等方面进行了诸多改编,既有令人赞叹的灵动之笔,也有使人遗憾的误读。这是中国家喻户晓的红楼故事在西方歌剧舞台的首度讲述,无论其亮点还是遗憾之处,都值得后来者认真思考与借鉴。
[Abstract]:The San Francisco Opera House produced the first English opera, A Dream of Red Mansions, and for the first time brought this novel onto the stage of Western opera. The play has been adapted in terms of its theme, structure, plot, characters, and so on. This is the first time that the story of Honglou, a household name in China, has been told on the stage of western opera. Whether it is bright or regrettable, it is worth seriously thinking and drawing lessons from the latecomers.
