高低语境交际视角下中美礼貌用语对比研究

【摘要】：摘要：随看全球化和世界整体化的发展,国与国之间各领域的交流合作日益扩大。在跨文化交际的背景下,成功的跨文化理解是建立在能够认识到两种文化的相似性和差异性基础上。在人际交往中,使用礼貌用语是必不可少的。礼貌用语是人们通过问候,称赞及其回应,感谢,道歉和告别来建立人际关系并保证交际的顺利进行。礼貌用语存在于每个国家,它是促进社会和谐,维持人际关系和成功交际的重要工具。礼貌用语作为文化和交流中重要的一部分,正受到来自世界各地不同领域专家和学者的关注。本文从高低语境视角入手,对中美礼貌用语进行对比研究。美国人类学家霍尔提出了高低语境概念,指出中国是典型的高语境国家,而美国则属于低语境国家。当高语境文化下的中国人同低语境文化下的美国人交流时,必然会产生差异。本文以霍尔的高语境和低语境交际文化为理论基础,以中美礼貌用语为研究对象,通过定性、归纳和对比分析探究了中美两国在各自高低语境影响下,人们在问候、称赞及其回应、感谢、道歉及告别等方面礼貌用语使用过程中存在的差异性。研究结果表明,中美两国由于受到各自高低语境交际文化的影响,人们使用礼貌用存在信息的内在化和外在化、回应的保留和外向、隐含和外显、人际纽带的固定性和松散性等一系列明显的差异。文章最后指出两国之间地域性、宗教和意识形态、社会结构等方面的差异,是形成各自高语境文化和低语境交际文化的根本原因。了解中美礼貌用语的差异有助于避免双方交谈时产生不必要的误解,能够使彼此交流获得成功,从而提升跨文化交际的能力。
