《大倭二十四孝》的佛教色彩

【摘要】:作为江户时代前期盛行的启蒙教化假名草子作品之一,《大倭二十四孝》刊行于宽文五(1665)年。毫无疑问,作品标题中出现的"二十四孝"来源于中国古代弘扬孝道文化所产生的"二十四孝",因此本作品也基本被归结为推广孝道教化的启蒙作品。对于这一类作品,除本论文接下来所要考察的《大倭二十四孝》以外,作者浅井了意还发表过《孝行物语》(万治三年刊行)及《三纲行实图》(宽文中期刊行)两部作品。这两部作品均由原本改编而来,收集了中国及古代朝鲜的各类孝子故事。整体内容建立在天道思想的基础上,大致可总结为,"孝子侍奉父母,感动天道,由此引发奇瑞,最终孝子孝道得以成全,可喜可贺"。以此为出发点,宽文五年刊行的《大倭二十四孝》则另辟蹊径。前两部作品所流露出的天道思想在《大倭二十四孝》屈指可数,与此相对,佛教思想则随处可见,完全取代了前者的地位。本论文正是以此为切入点,深入考察探究《大倭二十四孝》的创作方法。本论文由"序章"、"《大倭二十四孝》中的孝道与佛教"(第一章)、"继子奉孝故事中孝道与佛教的结合"(第二章)、"孝子复仇故事中孝道与佛教的结合"(第三章)、"孝子追善故事中孝道与佛教的结合"(第四章)及"终章"六个主要部分组成。"序章"部分主要介绍了《大倭二十四孝》各个流传版本及其作者争议,并总结了《大倭二十四孝》迄今为止的主要先行研究资料。总体来说,《大倭二十四孝》先行研究极其有限,并且其中大部分研究主要围绕其中部分故事的素材考证。因此,对作品整体评价及其创作方法的研究及探讨非常必要。第一章主要结合《大倭二十四孝》的内容,分析整理了作品的作者相关、传作背景及作品中的孝道性因素和佛教性因素。从作者生平可知了意不管是对于孝道或者佛教都有着足够的激情促使其创作《大倭二十四孝》,同时通过对当时的时代背景,江户幕府提倡儒学的政策及当时佛教所处的政治环境同样可成为其创作诱因。第二章主要从《大倭二十四孝》的继子奉孝故事,即"狭白"、"二宫花满"及"照田姬"三个故事中探讨继子故事的要素及本作中继子奉孝故事的创作方法。这三篇故事均有原案,通过与其原案的对比,分析了意的改编及其改编意图,从而得出《大倭二十四孝》中继子奉孝故事的创作方法。第三章从《大倭二十四孝》中的孝子复仇故事"山口秋道"的创作背景、及原案"秋道"的比较分析得出孝子复仇故事的创作方法。从"秋道"到"山口秋道",了意进行了一系列的"加工",通过对此"加工"过程的考察,探究了意在《大倭二十四孝》中加入孝子复仇故事的意图及其创作方法。第四章主要从孝子追善故事出发考察《大倭二十四孝》的方法。通过对浅井了意所创作的佛书中所表露出的追善供养的论说与"高桥种次"、"清原实元"、"佐藤藤生"所体现出的观点进行比较分析,探讨孝子追善故事的核心所在。通过论文论述分析,我们可得出,作者了意作为一名僧人,创作《大倭二十四孝》的意图更多在于佛教教义的宣传。从继子奉孝故事,到孝子复仇故事,及至孝子追善故事,在这一系列过程中,孝道逐渐融入佛教。这也契合了意的佛教理论,即孝顺父母往往也是往生的契机。创作《大倭二十四孝》,并非是以佛教理论教化孝道的尝试,亦或其反面,孝顺父母本身就包含在了意的佛教理论中。此次创作意图教化孝道,同时也是宣传其佛教理论的一次尝试。作品序文中所说的"佛道之缘"指的也正是孝道吧。
