【摘要】：托尼·莫里森和格洛丽亚·内勒是两位重要的美国黑人女作家,分别出生于上个世纪30和50年代。莫里森作为唯一一位荣获诺贝尔文学奖的黑人女作家,艺术成就享誉世界,几乎她的每部作品都被奉为经典。格洛丽亚·内勒作为美国黑人女作家中后起之秀的代表,也十分具有潜力,20世纪80年代初开始文学创作的她,凭借处女作《布鲁斯特的女人们》斩获美国图书奖,之后的作品也是获奖无数,广受好评。莫里森和内勒都属于高产型作家,本论文将对她们的两部代表作品《天堂》和《贝利咖啡馆》做对比分析。《天堂》是莫里森获得诺贝尔奖之后的第一部小说,也是她历史三部曲的完结之作,小说一经发表,就成为书店的畅销书。《贝利咖啡馆》则是格洛丽亚·内勒的黑人女性四部曲中的最后一部小说,也是能够充分展现内勒创作思想与写作风格的一部。本论文旨在通过对这两部作品在主题、人物以及叙事风格三个方面上的比较,分析两位黑人女作家在创作思想和创作手法上的相似性,从而论证托尼·莫里森对格洛丽亚·内勒在文学创作上的影响。本文共分三个部分,第一部分为引言,简要介绍托尼·莫里森和格洛丽亚·内勒的文学成就,两部小说的内容概要以及文献综述。第二部分是论文的主体,共有三章。第一章是对比《贝利咖啡馆》和《天堂》在主题上的相似性,两位作家都用间接的方式揭露了美国黑人女性所遭受的双重压迫,并且她们一致认为姐妹情谊是帮助黑人女性获得解放的有效途径。第二章探讨了两部小说在人物创作上的相似性。在女性人物的塑造上,两部作品中出现了很多相似的形象。此外,两位作家对男性人物的设定都呈现出消极而负面的特点。第三章通过分析莫里森和内勒在作品中的叙事特点,总结出她们都善于在作品中运用魔幻现实主义手法和布鲁斯音乐风格。第三部分是结论,通过对比《天堂》和《贝利咖啡馆》,我们可以在年龄跨度相差约二十岁的两位作家的作品中找到诸多相似之处。一方面,这反映出黑人女性作家在文学创作中存在很多共性;另一方面,也证明了前辈作家对后世作家在文学创作上产生的巨大影响。
[Abstract]:Tony Morrison and Gloria Naylor are two important black American women writers born in the 1930s and 1950s respectively. As the only black woman writer to win the Nobel Prize for Literature, Morrison has a world reputation for her artistic achievements, and almost every one of her works is regarded as a classic. Gloria Neller, as the representative of the up-and-coming female writers in the United States, also has great potential to win the American Book Award for her first work, Women of Brewster, who began her literary work in the early 1980s. Since then works are also innumerable awards, widely praised. Morrison and Naylor are both prolific writers. This paper will make a comparative analysis of their two representative works, Paradise and Pele Cafe. Paradise is Morrison's first novel since he won the Nobel Prize. At the end of her historical trilogy, the novel became the best seller in the bookstore once it was published. "the Pele Cafe" is the last novel in Gloria Neller's black women's quadrangle. It is also the one that can fully display Neller's creative thought and writing style. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the similarities of the two black female writers in their creative ideas and techniques by comparing the themes, characters and narrative styles of the two works. So as to demonstrate Tony Morrison's influence on Gloria Neller's literary creation. This paper is divided into three parts. The first part is the introduction, which briefly introduces the literary achievements of Tony Morrison and Gloria Naylor, the contents of the two novels and the literature review. The second part is the main body of the paper, there are three chapters. The first chapter is a comparison of the similarities in themes between Pele's Cafe and Paradise. Both writers indirectly expose the double oppression of black women in the United States. And they agreed that sisterhood was an effective way to free black women. The second chapter discusses the similarities between the two novels in the creation of characters. In the portrayal of female characters, there are many similar images in the two works. In addition, both writers have negative and negative characteristics on male characters. In the third chapter, by analyzing the narrative characteristics of Morrison and Neller in their works, the author concludes that they are good at using magic realism and blues style in their works. The third part is the conclusion. By comparing Paradise with Pele's Cafe, we can find many similarities in the works of two writers whose ages are about twenty years different. On the one hand, it reflects that there are many commonalities in the literary creation of black female writers; on the other hand, it also proves that the writers of the older generation have a great influence on the literary creation of later generations.
