论《孤独的伦敦人》的城市表达与文化形态

【摘要】：特立尼达黑人英语作家塞缪尔·塞尔文的小说《孤独的伦敦人》描写了20世纪50年代从西印度群岛迁往英国的移民在伦敦的生存困境。文章在当代空间批评的理论视阈下以伦敦城市空间为切入点,指出小说的伦敦空间具有城市结构层面和城市体验层面的指向和深层意蕴。伦敦空间的概念内涵超越地理界线的架构,城市在建构日常生活的感受和社会文化问题的表现以及在空间内部权力机制的运作等方面都发挥了重要作用。
[Abstract]:Samuel Selwin, a black English writer in Trinidad, describes the plight of immigrants from the West Indies to England in the 1950s. From the perspective of contemporary space criticism, this paper takes London urban space as a breakthrough point, and points out that the London space of the novel has the direction and the deep meaning of the urban structure level and the urban experience level. The concept of London space transcends the framework of geographical boundaries, and the city plays an important role in constructing the feelings of daily life and the expression of social and cultural problems, as well as in the operation of the internal power mechanism in space.
