Literature在晚清中国的“旅行”、“落户”与“入籍”——新教来华传教士与晚清中西跨文学交流的一种历史考察

【摘要】：作为晚清新教来华传教士基督教化中国的一个副产品,作为西方概念的literature被引入中文语境并生成了它的中文对应词"文学",亦由此而开启了中西之间基于这一概念的跨文学——文化交流。在此过程中,literature经历了在晚清中文语境中的旅行、落户和入籍三个不同时期或阶段,并分别呼应了新教来华传教士在华宣教的离岸时期、到岸时期和内地时期三个阶段。而对此过程的历史考察,不仅是在概念史意义上清理近代语境中的"文学"这一词语概念的生成发展史,而且也是对晚清以来由新教来华传教士与本土文士之间所展开的跨文学——文化交流史的一种追溯回顾与反思重构。
[Abstract]:As a by-product of Protestant missionaries coming to China in the late Qing Dynasty, As a western concept, literature was introduced into Chinese context and produced its Chinese equivalent word "literature", which also opened the cross-literature-cultural communication between China and the West based on this concept. In this process, literature experienced three different periods or stages of travel, residence and naturalization in the Chinese context of the late Qing Dynasty, and echoed the three stages of the missionary mission in China: the offshore period, the arrival period and the inland period. The historical investigation of this process is not only to clean up the history of the formation of the concept of "literature" in the modern context in the sense of conceptual history, It is also a retrospect and rethinking of the cross-literary and cultural communication history between the Protestant missionaries and the native literati since the late Qing Dynasty.
