难以复原的伤痛—创伤理论视角下的《一场美国梦》

【摘要】：诺曼·梅勒(1923-2007)作为战后美国文学作家的代表,在当代美国文学和文化史上占有非常重要的地位。在《一场美国梦》(1965)中,男主角罗杰克在与妻子黛博拉的一次口角中失手掐死了她。他用高超的手法将其谋杀伪装成妻子的跳楼自杀并最终逃过了法律的制裁。在这短短的三十二个小时里他经历了一系列刺激的非理性活动和美国生活方式的种种罪恶。本文尝试从创伤理论的角度,通过分析人物的创伤经历和治疗过程来分析《一场美国梦》这部小说,揭示创伤事件对作品中人物带来的影响,并希望引起公众对创伤群体更多的关注。本论文共包括五个章节:第一章简要介绍了诺曼·梅勒及其文学成就,小说《一场美国梦》的故事情节,国内外研究现状,理论依据以及论文的可行性与意义。第二章到第四章是论文的主体。在第二章中,通过对文本的细读,笔者分析了《一场美国梦》中的人物各自的创伤症状,其中包括自我感丧失、抑郁、人格分裂等。第三章主要对人物创伤症状产生的原因进行了分析,如罗杰克的创伤来自于他的二战经历,而黑人歌手沙戈因其身份在当时种族歧视仍然很普遍的背景下深受其害。第四章探讨了小说中各个人物面对自己的创伤表现出的不同的态度和治疗方式。第五章是全文的结论部分,分析了作者自身的战争创伤以及通过创作这本小说对其自身所受创伤进行创伤治疗的过程,并总结概括本文所表达的创伤主题;《一场美国梦》一方面揭露了社会和个人创伤事件给受害者带来的巨大创伤,另一方面也启示着人们应多关注自身受到过的创伤,提高对创伤治疗重要性的认识,一起为建立良好的人际关系和创造和谐的社会共同努力。
[Abstract]:Norman Mailer (1923-2007), as the representative of postwar American literary writers, plays a very important role in contemporary American literature and cultural history. In an American Dream (1965), RoJack strangles his wife Deborah in an altercation. He disguised his murder as his wife's suicide and finally escaped justice. In this short period of 32 hours he experienced a series of exciting irrational activities and the evils of the American way of life. From the perspective of trauma theory, this paper attempts to analyze the novel "an American Dream" by analyzing the traumatic experience and healing process of the characters, and reveals the impact of trauma events on the characters in the works. And hope to attract more public attention to trauma groups. This thesis consists of five chapters: the first chapter briefly introduces Norman Mailer and his literary achievements, the story of the novel A Dream of America, the current research situation at home and abroad, the theoretical basis and the feasibility and significance of the thesis. The second to fourth chapters are the main body of the thesis. In the second chapter, by reading the text carefully, the author analyzes the traumatic symptoms of the characters in an American Dream, including loss of self feeling, depression, personality split and so on. The third chapter mainly analyzes the causes of the traumatic symptoms of the characters, such as Rojack's trauma from his experience in World War II, while Black singer Sago suffered because of his identity under the background that racial discrimination was still widespread at that time. The fourth chapter discusses the different attitudes and treatments of the characters in the novel in the face of their own trauma. The fifth chapter is the conclusion of the thesis, which analyzes the author's own war trauma and the process of treating his own trauma by writing this novel. On the one hand, it reveals the great trauma caused by social and personal trauma to the victims, on the other hand, it also reveals that people should pay more attention to the trauma they have suffered. Raise awareness of the importance of trauma therapy and work together to build good relationships and create a harmonious society.
