“公平服务”与公平贸易:《红酋罗伯》中的自由贸易书写

【摘要】：本文结合1707年英苏联合至1815年间的历史语境,对司各特《红酋罗伯》中苏格兰草根费尔塞维斯的"自由贸易者"形象进行阐释。本文认为,在英格兰派往苏格兰的收税官帮助联合政府以英格兰税收模式在苏格兰征收名目繁多的税种这一历史语境中,费尔塞维斯的非法贸易被美化成公平贸易或者自由贸易,被视作一种对于古老的苏格兰的自由的"忠诚",它表达了苏格兰民众对自由市场的渴望,费尔塞维斯的英文名Fairservice(公平服务)也因此代表了当时苏格兰人心目中的公平贸易。
[Abstract]:Based on the historical context from 1707 to 1815, this paper explains the image of Free-Trader in Scott's "Red Shepherd". This paper argues that in the historical context of England's sending tax collectors to Scotland to help the coalition government to collect a variety of taxes in Scotland with the English tax model, Fairsavis' illegal trade has been glorified as fair trade or free trade, seen as a "loyalty" to the freedom of an ancient Scotland, an expression of the Scottish people's desire for a free market. Fairsex's English name, Fairservice, therefore represented fair trade in the eyes of the Scots.
