论托妮·莫里森《上帝帮助孩子》中的后现代叙事技巧

  美国非裔女作家托妮·莫里森是当代杰出的后现代主义小说家。莫里森的成功离不开她高超的后现代叙事艺术。在她最新的作品《上帝帮助孩子》中,莫里森也巧妙地运用了后现代叙事技巧。鉴于目前关于《上帝帮助孩子》的研究的广度和深度明显不足,本文试图从后现代叙事的角度来分析小说中的后现代叙事技巧:碎片化、多重叙事视角以及不确定性。通过本研究,得出以下三个结论:(1)小说中的碎片化表现为章节之间的碎片化以及同一章节中的碎片化,这不仅能设置悬念,促使读者参与小说的建构,而且还能更好地契合主题,有助于塑造小说中人物的形象;(2)多重叙事视角的运用可以更全面地描述故事,从不同角度呈现事件,有助于塑造人物形象,挖掘人物的内心想法,而且第一人称与第三人称的交替叙述打破了小说的连贯性,揭示了小说的虚构性、现实的复杂性以及一些社会问题;(3)小说中的不确定性具体表现为人物的不确定性和开放式结尾,这给读者留下了足够的想象空间,吸引了读者的注意力,促使读者以积极、创造性的态度参与故事的建构。本文从后现代叙事的角度分析说明了《上帝帮助孩子》中的碎片化、多重叙事视角、不确定性这三个后现代叙事技巧的具体运用及其意义,使读者能够对...
