从合作原则及礼貌原则视角析《理智与情感》中的会话含义

【摘要】：作为英国为数不多的著名女性作家之一,简·奥斯汀一生完成了六部长篇小说,而这其中《理智与情感》较为经典的一部。对于这部小说的研究也是不胜枚举。中外学者从她对婚姻的看法,女权主义在小说中的应用,以及她的语言风格和叙事技巧等多方面解读了这部小说。而对其中丰富而生动的会话含义进行的系统研究和剖析却不多见,所以本文尝试从合作原则和礼貌原则的角度及以个案分析的定性方法去分析《理智与情感》中的会话含义,以此欣赏人物对话并挖掘其中所反映出的人物性格。本文回顾了十九世纪以来对简·奥斯汀和《理智与情感》的文学研究和批评,在此基础上提出用语用学理论分析《理智与情感》中会话含义的可行性和必要性。为了更好地理解会话含义理论,本文对Grice合作原则做了详细的阐述。但合作原则理论没有就人们在言语交际中为什么要含蓄间接地表达自己的真实意图给出合理的解释,而Leech提出的礼貌原则理论则弥补了这一缺陷。所以本文还同时将礼貌原则作为分析的理论依据,以期能更透彻地分析小说中的会话含义。从《理智与情感》中作者精选出来54个经典对话,并根据其所违反的准则进行了明确归类和比较分析。在分析这些对话的言外之意的过程中,我们可以更好地了解人物鲜活的性格和欣赏作家的写作风格,另一方面也可以验证语用学理论在文学作品文本分析中的有效性和意义。
[Abstract]:As one of the few famous female writers in England, Jane Austen wrote six novels in her life. Among them, "reason and emotion" is one of the more classic. The study of this novel is also endless. Chinese and foreign scholars from her view of marriage, feminist in the novel's application, As well as her language style and narrative skills, the novel has been interpreted from many aspects, but the systematic study and analysis of its rich and vivid conversational implicature is rare. Therefore, this paper tries to analyze the conversational implicature in reason and emotion from the angle of cooperation principle and politeness principle as well as the qualitative method of case analysis, so as to appreciate the character dialogue and excavate the character reflected in it. This article reviews literary research and criticism of Jane Austen and reason and emotion since 19th century. On this basis, the feasibility and necessity of using pragmatic theory to analyze conversational implicature in "reason and emotion" are put forward in order to better understand conversational implicature theory. In this paper, the principle of Grice cooperation is elaborated in detail. However, the theory of the principle of cooperation does not give a reasonable explanation as to why people express their true intentions implicitly and indirectly in verbal communication. However, Leech's politeness principle theory makes up for this defect. Therefore, this paper also takes politeness principle as the theoretical basis of analysis, in order to analyze conversational implicature in the novel more thoroughly. The author selects 54 classic dialogues from reason and emotion, and makes a clear classification and comparative analysis according to the norms they violate. In the course of analyzing the implication of these dialogues, We can better understand the vivid character of the characters and appreciate the writer's writing style, on the other hand, we can verify the validity and significance of pragmatics theory in the text analysis of literary works.
