《坎特伯雷故事集》中隐含作者和叙事者的关系分析

【摘要】：杰弗里·乔叟享有“英国诗歌之父”的美誉，其所创作的《坎特伯雷故事集》讲述了一行30人前往坎特伯雷朝圣的旅程。该部作品对以后的许多作家诗人产生的非常深刻的影响。这些年来国内外学者对乔叟以及其作品《坎特伯雷故事》的研究如火如荼，研究角度和方法也是多种多样。论文从叙事学的角度出发，探析《坎特伯雷故事集》中叙事者和隐含作者的关系。首先，论文对《坎》这部作品中的叙事者进行了归类分析。在朝圣的旅程中总共有着多达三十人的朝圣者，他们的出身，教育背景和思想观念各不相同，却也有着不明显的共同之处。本文将这些朝圣者分为三类，，即贵族阶层、中产阶层和贫民阶层。在每一类里面，本文选择了几个比较有代表性的叙事者进行了分析研究，并发现隐含作者在他们叙事时所起到的作用。按照正常叙事顺序，贵族阶层的代表骑士在讲完故事之后，应该是僧侣来讲。但是，隐含作者却安排出了来自平民阶层的磨坊主出场，讲了一个与骑士针锋相对的故事。由于隐含作者的故意安排，使两个阶层的矛盾突显出来。然后，论文分析了隐含作者和叙事者的关系。发现隐含作者控制着叙事者观点的表达和思想的流露，而叙事者同时也影响着隐含作者的功能。二者之间的关系贯穿了《坎》这部作品的始终。通过对该部作品叙事角度的研究，本文认为：隐含作者和叙事者在《坎》中的关系是非常密切的，二者互相影响。因为隐含作者的存在，叙事者的出场顺序和故事含义受到了影响，这种故意的安排加深了各个阶层的强烈对比，突显了不同社会阶层之间的矛盾冲突。而叙事者的故事和行为影响着隐含作者对文本的控制。虽然这部作品是有若干个故事组成，而有了隐含作者和叙事者的存在，使得《坎》整部作品浑然一体，内容丰富，思想深刻。
[Abstract]:Jeffrey Chaucer, known as the Father of English Poetry, wrote the Canterbury Story about a group of 30 people on a pilgrimage to Canterbury. The influence of this work on many writers and poets in the future. In recent years, Chaucer and his work Canterbury Story have been studied in full swing by scholars at home and abroad. From the perspective of narratology, this paper explores the relationship between narrator and implied author in Canterbury Tales. First of all, the thesis classifies and analyzes the narrators in this novel. There were up to thirty pilgrims on the pilgrimage, whose origins, educational backgrounds, ideas and ideas were different, but not obvious in common. In this paper, these pilgrims are divided into three categories, namely, the aristocratic class, the middle class and the poor class. In each category, several representative narrators are selected for analysis and study, and the role of implied authors in their narration is found. In normal narrative order, the representative knight of the aristocrat, after telling the story, should be a monk. The implied author, however, arranges the Miller from the civilian class to tell a story of tit-for-tat with the knights. Because of the intentional arrangement of the implied author, the contradiction between the two strata is highlighted. Then, the paper analyzes the relationship between the implied author and the narrator. It is found that the implied author controls the expression of the narrator's point of view and the expression of his thoughts, while the narrator also influences the function of the implied author. The relationship between them runs through the whole time of this work. Through the study of the narrative angle of the works, this paper holds that the relationship between the implied author and the narrator is very close, and the two influence each other. Because of the existence of the implied author, the narrator's order of appearance and the meaning of the story are affected. This kind of deliberate arrangement deepens the strong contrast of each stratum and highlights the contradiction and conflict between different social strata. The narrator's story and behavior affect the implicit author's control of the text. Although this work is composed of several stories, with the existence of the implied author and narrator, the whole work is integrated, rich in content and profound in thought.
