选择，创伤，选择：《苏菲的选择》之解读

天才的美国作家威廉·斯泰伦的杰作之一《苏菲的选择》于1979年出版,接着便荣获1980年度美国国家图书奖。到目前为止,国内外的学者已经研究了该小说的主题、语言和叙事技巧。并且,由于这部小说描述了大屠杀这一重大的历史事件,还有的研究者从历史的角度对其进行分析。本文努力从心理创伤角度解读苏菲的悲剧,因此,本文将运用创伤理论,分析苏菲所经历的创伤性事件、其心理创伤症状、创伤对其影响、以及其创伤复原的失败。创伤理论指出,受到严重心理创伤的个体可能会表现出重复体验、回避创伤、自我意识崩溃和失去信仰等创伤症状。心理创伤患者可以通过建立安全感、讲述创伤事件和与他人重建联系而从创伤中复原。该小说主人公苏菲·泽维斯托乌斯卡作为纳粹大屠杀的幸存者,亲眼目睹并且遭受了一连串的纳粹暴行。她的创伤症状主要表现在以下几个方面：地铁上遭遇的袭击、纳粹模样的图书管理员、杂志中的奥斯维辛司令官霍斯的照片、对纳粹行刑的消息以及内森关于她如何幸存的盘问,都激活了她的创伤记忆并使她痛苦地重复体验曾经的创伤；她不提“奥斯维辛”这个词,忽视关于纳粹审判的消息,对她女儿伊娃的遭遇讳莫如深,甚至通过豪饮烂醉来麻痹自己,试图通过这些方...
