【摘要】：作为当代南非著名小说家,J.M.库切在两次摘取布克文学奖桂冠后,又于2003年获得世界诺贝尔文学奖。库切的作品主题多样,写作形式亦是不拘一格。2009年,库切的最新小说《夏日》得以出版问世。作家运用独具一格的“他传”写作手法讲述了主人公约翰·库切在20世纪70年代的生活,引起国内外评论界的广泛关注,成为众多学者关注的焦点。然而,鲜有评论家就小说《夏日》中的他传书写加以研究,因此,本文将重点分析库切的最新作品《夏日》,对小说中“他传”观念的含义、成因和表现形式、他传书写的实验性特征以及他传书写的伦理指涉等方面进行详细系统地探讨。本研究认为,库切打破传统的自传写作模式,开创了自己独特的“他传”概念。库切“他传”书写的独特之处充分体现在其实验性上。通过虚构与真实的结合,他探究真相的意义所在;通过多角度叙事,他模糊了传主的身份从而更客观的呈现自我;通过运用诸如空白、拼贴等创新的方式,他召唤读者参与库切的形象构建;这些独特的设计让库切的他传观念跃然纸上。库切通过第三人称叙事视角、时态的变换、片段式描写等多种手法,把过去的自我当作客体来研究,呈现出对真相的重新思考,对自我的客观审视,以及对南非社会现实的深刻揭露。
