【摘要】：教师素质,是教师在整个教育教学活动中表现出来的对学生身心发展有显著影响并决定其教育教学效果的思想和心理品质的总和。初中英语教师作为整个教师队伍中一个既普通又特殊的群体,担负着承上启下,培养外语人才的重要责任,其素质的高低将直接影响我国外语人才的质量,随着中国WTO的加入,我国对外交流愈加频繁,对外语人才的需求也越来越迫切,要求也越来越高。作为培养高质量人才的一支重要生力军,初中英语教师素质问题也愈来愈受到社会的关注。只有高素质高质量的教师才能培养出高质量高素质的学生,所谓“名师出高徒”,本人研究的目的在于：试图以问卷调查、访谈和理论分析相结合的方式,通过对部分英山县初中英语教师进行测试和调查,了解英山县初中英语教师的素质现状,较全面较客观地掌握当前英山县初中英语教师的状况,提出可行的提高英山县初中英语教师素质,进行教师继续教育,终生教育的对策和建议。本论文从职业道德、教育理念、文化素质、能力素质等四个方面对英山县初中英语教师的素质进行了分析,在此基础上,参考有关文献以及英语学科理论专家意见,自制了《英山县初中英语教师素质调查问卷》,对教师的职业道德、教育理念、文化素质、能力素质进行了调查。并逐项分析了调查结果及所反映的教师素质的各个方面的现状。最后提出了提高英山县初中英语教师素质的建议与对策,分析调查结果,结合数名教师的访谈笔录,得出当前英山县初中英语教师素质现状：1.英山县初中英语教师树立了比较正确的职业思想。2.英山县初中大多数英语教师具有比较明确的教育理念。3.英山县大部分初中英语教师已经具备教学所需的基本文化知识结构,但是对教育科研和教育技术方面的知识需要学习和提高。4.英山县初中英语教师管理能力还是比较强的,具备了教育教学基本的管理能力,为新课标实施提供了基本保障。5.英山县初中英语教师的教学实践能力还不够强,教学基本功还不够扎实,教学技能还不是很熟练。6.英山县初中英语教师具备较强的教学反思能力。7.英山县初中英语教师的科研意识和科研能力还存在一定差距。8.在自我评价上,英山县初中很多英语教师认为相对与新课程改革的要求,自己的从教能力有些不足,希望有继续学习进步的机会。为了适应当今竞争社会的需要,我国教师队伍应该以终身学习思想作为指导,统一考虑教师资源和培养计划,我认为可以采取以下的措施提高英山县初中英语教师素质：1.强化师德教育,使英语教师能够树立为民族为国家兴盛而教书的职业道德。2.建立英语教师继续教育体系,为提高英山县初中教师素质提供基础。3.关注终身学习的意识,建立长期的教师自我教育,自我培养体系,发挥教学科研的作用。本文研究英山县初中英语教师的素质,目的是促进建立一个科学完善的师资培养体系,使英山县初中英语教师素质有一个根本性的提高,使其能够适应新课改的需要和新时代的要求,为提高英山县英语教学质量,培养高素质的人才奠定一定的基础。
