“下去”与“上去”——“五四”时期鲁迅、周作人复出的发生学考察

【摘要】："五四"前期现代人道主义思潮与"人的文学"文艺运动均发端于周氏兄弟的"复出",他们自愿走出返归自我的精神"退隐"并转而投身新的社会改造运动,这一事件成为中国近现代思想史、文学史研究的重要关注点。考察促使周氏兄弟作出抉择的个体心理动因与外部思潮原因,探究他们的精神动机、思想演变历程,以及其抉择的真实含义与新的自我身份定位等,可以发现,1918年前后周氏兄弟受到两条重要思路的强烈触动:其一,"下去"即为"上去"的"尼采思路"为周氏兄弟提供了理论上的驱动力;其二,民初知识界第二次思想"陡转"中梁漱溟、蔡元培等智识者富于强烈道德自许、道义担当的思想行动,以及"一战"后新的世界大势的强烈冲击与启示,这些促使深受"中国问题"困扰的周氏兄弟最终作出投身社会改造的抉择,亦即他们的"下去"。
[Abstract]:In the early stage of the May 4th Movement, both the modern humanitarianism and the literary and artistic movement of "human literature" originated from the "return" of the Zhou brothers. They voluntarily "retired" from the spirit of returning to themselves and threw themselves into the new social reform movement. This event has become an important concern in the history of modern Chinese thought and the study of literary history. This paper investigates the individual psychological motivation and external ideological trend of the Chou brothers' decision, explores their spiritual motivation, the course of their ideological evolution, the true meaning of their choice and their new self-identity orientation, etc. It can be found that around 1918, the Zhou brothers were strongly touched by two important ideas: first, the Nietzsche idea of "going down" or "going up" provided the Zhou brothers with a theoretical driving force; second, In the second "steep turn" of the intellectual circles in the early Republic of China, the intelligentsia, such as Liang Shuming and Cai Yuanpei, were rich in strong moral commitment, moral action, and the strong impact and enlightenment of the new world trend after the "first World War." These prompted the Chou brothers, troubled by the "China problem", to make the choice of social transformation, that is, their "go down".
