威妥玛《语言自迩集》与对外汉语教学

【摘要】：正一威妥玛及其《语言自迩集》英国在西方国家中是较早开展汉语教学与研究并产生过杰出汉学家、汉语教学专家的国家。其中影响最大的就有19世纪的威妥玛及其代表作《语言自迩集》。也许由于历史的原因,百多年来,威妥玛《语言自迩集》在中国语言学界似乎被"雪藏"了,甚少有人知道或谈到威妥玛及其《语言自迩集》,而据说北京图书馆和北京语言大学图书馆等极少数几家图书馆所藏之该书几乎无人问津。今天仅就学术而言,来再识一下这位曾对世界汉语教学及汉语研究做出过重要贡献的语言学家和汉学家。威妥玛,英文原名Sir Thomas Francis Wade,又译作"伟德",生于1818年,卒于1895年。长驻中国任外交官(官至驻华"公使")达43年之久,参与了西方列强的侵华活动。他在中国当外交官之前相当长时期内,主要在上海海关工作,负责对来自英国本土的海关人员进行汉语培训。应该说,他是位非常敬业、出色的汉语教师。出于工作需要,他研究汉语并自编教材。先后于1859年著《寻津录》,1867
[Abstract]:Zhengyi Wade and his "language from you" in the United Kingdom in the Western countries is the early development of Chinese teaching and research and has produced outstanding Sinologists. The country of Chinese language teaching experts. Among them, Wade and his masterpiece, "language since you", in 19th century. Perhaps for historical reasons, for more than a hundred years, Wade's "language from you" seems to have been "snowed" in Chinese linguists. Very few people know or talk about Wade and his "since you language", and it is said that few libraries, such as the Beijing Library and the Library of Beijing language and Culture University, have almost no access to the book. Let's take another look at this linguist and sinologist who has made an important contribution to the teaching and research of Chinese in the world. Wade, originally named Sir Thomas Francis Wade-translated as "Wade," was born in 1818. In 1895, he served as a diplomat (official to "minister") in China for 43 years and participated in the activities of Western powers to invade China. He worked mainly at the Shanghai Customs for a long time before he became a Chinese diplomat. He is responsible for Chinese training for customs officers from the UK.
