【摘要】：为贯彻落实《中共中央国务院关于进一步加强和改进大学生思想政治教育的意见》的精神，共青团中央、教育部就加强和改进大学生社团工作提出意见，要大力扶持理论学习型社团。高校学生理论社团是帮助在校大学生学习理论知识的一个平台，其本身就包涵了大量的思想政治教育的因素，在校园文化中占主导地位，同时它也是社会主流文化中的一种形式。每个参加到高校学生理论社团的学生都能够感受到社团丰富多彩的社团活动，同时在活动中潜移默化的接受到思想政治教育，从而有利于个人“三观”的建立，因此借用高校社团这种形式，成立进行全校性的学习、研究以马克思主义理论为主的高校理论社团成为大学生的内在需求。高校学生理论社团在大学生思想政治教育中具有非常重要的作用，主要有充分提高思想政治教育的吸引力；积极发挥思想政治教育的主导性；不断促进思想政治教育的创新力；极大增强思想政治教育的实践性。追溯高校学生理论社团产生的主要背景分为时代背景、社会背景、学校背景。在其发展的过程当中，出现了社团规模不断壮大；组织结构逐步健全；社团活动方式灵活多样；社会实践卓有成效；社团理论网站蓬勃兴起等特点。但是目前在发展过程高校学生理论社团建设依旧存在着不少问题，例如高校学生社团发展不平衡；管理体制不完善；建设水平提高难；活动层次有待提高；建设经费不足等问题值得我们进一步研究。探讨高校学生理论社团发展方法建议，，第一要积极发挥党团组织的功能；第二要切实完善高校学生理论社团的管理体制；第三要加强高校学生理论社团中管理干部队伍的建设和全面提高社团成员的整体素质；最后要加强高校学生理论社团活动的吸引力。最后选取了高校学生理论社团经典案例——清华大学学生马克思主义学习研究协会，对其社团的成立和发展历史、运行状况以及其建设现状、部门设置、活动管理进行了详细分析。
