研究生翻译作业质量评估的结构容量视角

【摘要】：本文探讨了词性、结构容量和搭配对译文的可读性的影响。本文研究对象为英语专业研究生的英译汉翻译作业。选择该研究对象有两个原因：一是为了尽量少关注低级语言偏误，更多注意基本语言运用特征。二是为了考察目前研究中很少关注的英语专业研究生翻译质量评估问题。通过对比范例译文与低质量译文的语言特点，详细描述翻译作业的整体和局部特征，并归纳总结影响汉语译文质量的语言因素。作者收集了英语专业研究生的翻译作业，创建了小型翻译作业语料库，以兰开斯特汉语语料库为参照，从语义和语法的角度，采用定性与定量综合分析的方法，描述英语专业研究生的翻译语言特点。本文通过统计、观察和分析，得出以下结论：第一，不同等级的翻译作业在词性上的分布特征存在差异，其中虚词使用频次相近，实词使用频次差别明显，作者着重讨论了实词中的动词、名词、副词和形容词，这几类词与语言动态性的强弱有密切联系。由此，译文语言（汉语为译入语）的动态性越强，其质量就越高。第二，文章从结构容量的角度考查动宾结构，根据该结构内嵌成分的复杂性，将其进行分类分析。分析表明，简单的并列结构常见于得分低的译文中；另外两种内嵌成分类型为短语或小句。通过译文间的对比，发现内嵌成分的结构愈复杂，译文的可读性愈差。第三，作者分析了学生作业中的搭配状况，从语法和语义两个层面展开分析，具体考察了语法格、修饰成分与被修饰成分、范畴词对汉语译文语言质量的影响。统计显示，，不当搭配与翻译作业的得分负相关，即得分低者易使用不当搭配。综上所述，本文对翻译语言进行了总体描述，并发现词性、结构容量和搭配均在不同程度上影响着翻译质量，其中，结构容量和搭配影响尤为显著。鉴于此，应该将这三个因素纳为翻译质量评估对象，并为翻译教学提供参考。
[Abstract]:This paper discusses the effects of part of speech, structural capacity and collocation on the readability of the translated text. The subjects of this study are English translation assignments for English majors. There are two reasons for choosing this research object: one is to pay less attention to low-level language errors and to pay more attention to basic language usage features. The second is to investigate the translation quality assessment of English major postgraduates. By comparing the linguistic characteristics of sample translation with that of low-quality translation, this paper describes in detail the global and local features of translation, and sums up the linguistic factors that affect the quality of Chinese translation. The author collects the translation assignments of English majors and creates a small translation corpus, which is based on Lancaster's Chinese corpus, and adopts the methods of qualitative and quantitative comprehensive analysis from the perspective of semantics and grammar. Describes the translation language features of English majors. Through statistics, observation and analysis, this paper draws the following conclusions: first, there are differences in the distribution of parts of speech among different levels of translation work, in which the frequency of use of function words is similar, and the frequency of use of notional words is obviously different. The author focuses on the verbs, nouns, adverbs and adjectives in notional words, which are closely related to the strength of language dynamics. Therefore, the more dynamic the translation language is, the higher its quality will be. Secondly, the structure of verb-object is studied from the point of view of structure capacity, and it is classified and analyzed according to the complexity of the embedded components of the structure. The analysis shows that simple juxtaposition structures are common in low score translations, and the other two inline types are phrases or clauses. It is found that the more complex the structure of the embedded components, the worse the readability of the translations. Thirdly, the author analyzes the collocation situation in the students' homework, analyzes the grammatical case, the modified component and the modified component, and the influence of the categorical word on the quality of the Chinese translation language from the grammatical and semantic aspects. Statistics show that improper collocation is negatively correlated with the score of translation, that is, the low score is easy to use improper collocation. To sum up, this paper gives a general description of the translation language and finds that part of speech, structural capacity and collocation affect the translation quality to some extent, especially the structural capacity and collocation. In view of this, these three factors should be considered as the object of translation quality assessment and provide reference for translation teaching.
