科恩对生产力一元决定论的辩护:一个批判的考察

【摘要】：在发表于上个世纪70年代的《卡尔·马克思的历史理论》一书里,科恩试图为历史唯物主义的决定论版本,即所谓生产力一元决定论,进行全面的辩护。科恩的理论包括两个原理,即所谓发展原理和生产力首要性原理。由于科恩在对相关理论的阐释中不仅借鉴了来自当代分析哲学的论证技巧,而且倚重于新古典经济学的方法论个人主义假设,因而成为英美"分析马克思主义"流派的代表人物。本文批判地考察了科恩的理论,指出其方法上的缺陷,并与马克思主义历史学家布伦纳的理论做了比较。科恩以及生产力一元决定论的根本缺陷在于,假定生产关系仅仅具有一种功能,即适应和促进生产力的发展,从而片面地理解了生产力和生产关系之间复杂的辩证关系。
[Abstract]:In his book Karl Marx's Theory of History published in the 1970s, Cohen tries to fully defend the deterministic version of historical materialism, the so-called productivity univariate determinism. Cohen's theory includes two principles: the so-called development principle and the principle of productivity primacy. In his interpretation of relevant theories, Cohen not only draws on the argumentation techniques from contemporary analytical philosophy, but also relies on the methodological individualism hypothesis of neoclassical economics. As a result, he became the representative figure of the "analytical Marxism" school in Britain and the United States. This paper critically examines Cohen's theory, points out its methodological defects, and compares it with that of the Marxist historian Brenner. The fundamental defect of Cohn and the univariate determinism of productive forces lies in the assumption that the relations of production have only one function, that is, to adapt and promote the development of productive forces, and thus to understand one-sidedly the complex dialectical relationship between productive forces and relations of production.
