【摘要】：本文首先根据中国历史的文化与制度传承及近代以来的历史进程事实,建构了儒家教化与新教伦理对民间创业发展影响机制的基本分析框架,进而利用清代以来中国不同地区考取进士的人数(以测度儒家教化的深刻程度)、近代以来新教在华传播状况(以测度新教伦理的影响程度)、鸦片战争后中国城市的"条约开埠通商"(以测度市场制度的建构状况)的重大历史数据,并匹配以2011年不同地区的入户调查数据,分析发现:新教在近代中国的传播,通过弱化儒家教化对人们宗族伦理意识正向作用的方式,促进了当代不同地区的民间创业(社区或村所拥有的"本地自创企业数/万人"、"本地自雇创业数/万人"),且这一结果在通过各种可能的稳健性检验后,依然显著。这一发现不仅验证了
